My family just moved to Elmhurst and we need your help! Please respond with any referrals, recommendations and suggestions for doctors, dentists, restaurants, dry cleaners, things to do, places to go etc. We are also interested in joining a protestant church with an active kid's program. Thanks in advance for helping us transition to living in Elmhurst!

My 3 kids have gone to Dr. Edwards at Elmhurst Pediatrics since they were born, in downtown Elmhurst. Love her! ###-###-#### is their number. They have great hours, always can see sick kids that day, and the doctors/nurses answer the phone the first 45 minutes of the morning to answer any questions you may have! And yes the park district has lots of great classes! Good luck with finding everything you need! Tons of food places all around here, too many to list! But Rosati's is by far one of the best pizza places in town!

We go to Verlare cleaners on York and Vallete, they also have a tailor there. Mama Maria's has awesome pizza and all their other food is excellent too. Hi K.,

Welcome to Elmhurst.

Dr. Steffens in downtown Elmhurst is a great dentist. My husband and I both see him. I think he also sees children, though I take my kids to Dr. John Nathan in Oak Brook who is a pediatric dentist and just wonderful with kids.

Also check out epd.org and check out the park district brochure. There are wonderful activities you can sign your kids up for. The parks around here are wonderful - once it gets warmer you will really enjoy them.
And definitely visit the Elmhurst Public Library. It has a great children's section with many programs for kids offered throughout the year.

Good luck.
A.

I could go on forever...there are so many great things!

We use General Pediatrics out of Good Samaritian (in Downers Grove),but I have heard there a lot of great Dr.'s here in Elmhurst.

My husband and I use Elmhurst Medical Associates...they are affiliated with Elmhurst Hospital. I see Dr. Cheff, My Husband sees Dr. O'Rouke, and Dr. D'Amico is seeing my grandmother. There are several other Dr.'s in the practice and all have been great. ###-###-####.

As for food places...We really like Q's in Hillside. It's located on Butterfield Rd. very close to Wolf Rd. It's a small little Italian place, but they have great food! The pizza is VERY thin and the portions are pretty big.

We get pizza from a few places...Mama Maria's, Q's, Aurellios's (in Oak Brook Terrace...on Roosevelt), and Armands are our top choices.

The library is wonderful, the park district offers a ton of programs, and there are so many things to do around here....Brookfield Zoo, Arboretum, lots of malls, etc.

Where are you moving from? How old are your kids? Those might help us give some better ideas.

Welcome to Elmhurst!

For the most part we use Elmhurst Clinic Doctors. My kids go to Dr Mike Hoffman and we've been very happy with him. There are so many restaurants in Elmhurst and the surrounding communities...within Elmhurst we like 100 South, Mama Maria's, Angelo's and Dileo's. As for stuff to do, you have Brookfield Zoo and all the different parks in Elmhurst and the Park District is good too. As for shopping, I prefer Yorktown over Oak Brook but thats a preference. And as for churches, we belong to Yorkfield Presbyterian Church, they have a lot for children and everyone is extremely welcoming and friendly. The best of luck to you and your family!

Welcome!

Our dentist is Dr. Steven Erikson on Spring Road. I've seen him since I was a teen and I love his work.

His office is right next to Roberto's, a restaurant we love.

The Courts Plus Fitness center, which is a Park District managed facility, is the absolute BEST place to work out. The price for resident is really good, since it is subsidized by the Park District. The pool is nice and very clean; however, the times you can bring kids to the pool is very limited.
