Give her $5.
The amount that is her age.
Geez, so last minute and RUDE. And invited at the last minute.
Even more rude.
I didn't think we were going to my son's half sisters b-day party, but low behold we have been invited and it's at 7 (MST) So in 2 hours. I have $-9 in my account. I need some sort of make at home quick gift idea. Ready set GO!!!!!
lol You guys are funny. Seriously negative 9 in my account. I went around my room and found an old gift basket and put a nail polish that you can't even see (used once), an old little black purse, and sunglasses I have decided that do not look good on me.
I know, It sounds like I'm pushing her to grow up, but it was all I can find and I know my 5 year old niece would LOVE it if I gave her some. lol. . . . huh, speaking of, I wonder if I have any lip gloss. P loves lip gloss too. . .

homemade "Gift Certificate" that says something like "entitles birthday girl to (insert homemade gift idea: dozen homemade cookies, visit to the Auntie MegandOllie Nail Salon for manicure, etc.)
Hair items or nail polishes at the dollar store. Have fun!
well, you could give her a bday card that says, this entitles you to??? dinner out.. a night at the movies.. .or they get to pick out a gift of their choice at??
this way, by the time they cash it in, you may have the money put aside for it..
Have you a coffee mug?
Fill with candy...
(any container will do actually)
Put a ribbon on...
and say "TA DA!!!"
best luck
***oh....a side of bubbles (to blow...or champagne...cheap) will help ALL concerned!!

-Either give an I.O.U in an envelope.
Make a cute one & w/a bow taped to the envelope & attach to a big,
huge Hershey's bar. (You can buy it on way to party at convenience store). IOU can be of a small gift or a fun time out somewhere.
-OR-
Is there something around the house you could re-purpose:
- a frame you can spray pain bright pink for her room
- a cute throw pillow w/cute girly things sewn on
- any letters around your house you can spray paint that spell our her name?
- an old jewelry box you can give her & make more girly for a 5 yr old?
- a small picture frame you have around the house (spray paint fun color if you have paint & the time), put a cute picture of you or a family member
in the frame.
.
With such short notice I wouldn't go nuts but I understand your money frustration.
I keep a little stash of things as I see them on clearance. That doesn't help you now but maybe for the future?
Okay, well, IF you get paid tomorrow and you have the money you can spend on it tomorrow, you can write a check at Target. (Not Wal-Mart- they run checks like debit cards). The money won't come out for 1-2 days. I have learned this through the years of desperately needing food the day before pay day! LOL!
Make jello/cookies/find old Easter candy... tell your kids to cough up barely used nail polish/nail things... give the kid $5 in a $.99 card!!
Do you have any unused, small stuffed animals? Or $5 and a card because she's 5 yrs old?
Edit: Sorry, missed the - of the -9.
You can find really good stuff at the dollar store or in the Target dollar bin. What about an early reader? Most of the DK early readers are under $4. McDonalds or DQ gift certificate for 5 bucks to get ice cream or kids meal?
