T.K.
Another idea...is indoor soccer at All American. They have a little kickers class that I believe starts at 18 mo. Soccer is such a great sport to start with - as it's something they get lots of exercise in - and stay very active.
hey moms! yes, i do have a question, and i'm kind of frustrated at the moment. we have tax returns on their way (woo hoo!) so i was wanting to get my three year old son into some kind of class - gymnastics, tee ball, something. it doesn't really matter if it starts a month or two away, as long as i can pay now. the only thing is all i am finding are stinking daytime classes! are there ANY classes for us working mothers, in the evenings/on weekends?? surely i'm just looking in the wrong places. and i'm really frustrated with gymboree - i had heard such great things. but come on, not all of us are lucky enough to be sahm's!!
thanks girls, apparently i WAS looking in the wrong place...i'll try your suggestions...thanks again! :)

check into your local community center. A lot of them have programs for kids while you workout and some of them have pee-wee t-ball and soccer at that age. usually 4 is the age where it is easier to find more sports available. I know our smaller town has these things available. If not through your community center then try your local parks/recreation. At this young age the sports aren't very long maybe 4-6 weeks. I personally didn't start my kids in sports until they were 5. The kids that started early seemed to be more competitive and rude because they acted like they were better because they had played a year or 2 longer.. that doesn't necessarily make them better than the other kids it just gave them a little headstart on knowing the rules of the game but most kids have the same motor skills and can do just as well if given the right instructions to get started well.
A swimming class might be good at this age to start.
i take my daughter and son to the prairie village gymboree too, they are pretty good about evening and weekend classes.
I know there are some available as my friend's son is in football and gymnastics, but at daycare all day. I think her program was through the YMCA.
As for Gymboree, we do love it and our location in PV does offer evening and weekend classes!
Depending on which co you live in. There are lots of things available thru JOCO Parks and Rec. Dept. But, most t-ball things aren't avaiable until the age of 4. But, there are other things to look at, swimming, gymnastics etc...
Gymboree has classes afterhours and on Saturdays. Granted, the Olathe location doesn't have as much as others. Here's their's: http://www.gymboreeclasses.com/calendar.do?fCode=379&...
Prairie Village has a lot more, this is where we take our daughters:

Also, Johnson County Parks & Rec has all sorts of classes. They also offer programs on the weekends and after work. http://www.jcprd.com/activities/index.cfm
We do things throught the Blue Valley Parks and Rec. They USUALLY offer evening and weekend sessions. The only exception is soccer. They have a cute program for 2.5 to 3 year olds, but it's at 10:00 am during the week! I am really bummed about that because I know my son would love it.
Hi Carrie,
Gymboree at Prairie Village does have night classes at 630 and Saturday classes at 1130 I think. If you are interested in that hope this helps.
We just started our 3 and 4 year olds at Amerikicks (95th and Nall) in martial arts....they love it and it is fun!!! They meet on Sat. ams at 10 for that age group. Make up, if you have to miss, is on Wed pm. You can do and pay by the month, or likely, several months in advance. Good luck!
