The product works really well. However, I have a personal dilema with Johnson & Johnson. So when I discovered they owned Aveeno (I think they bought Aveeno out, but cannot remember) I found another product. If you don't mind J&J, then go for it.
The other product I tried, that was recommended by the pediatrician was Eucerin Aquaphor:

I think it comes in tubes now, not just tubs. It is kind of clearish and has a slightly lighter consistancy than vasaline. It does not sting like the other Eucerin products. It is kinda icky to put on, but it works really, really well.
