I am TTC,...I have been doing a lot of reading,& enjoying the process of learning as well as trying, as stress is the main factor I am avoiding, So my question is not driven by anxiousness or disapointment, but rather a thirst for accurate information. I have been looking into ovulation sypmtoms and have been following the cervical mucus prior to ovulating, I was hoping to this was the lucky month... my cycle is between 26 -28 days ... according to the 26 day cycle 2day is the start date or 28 day cycle the start date would be the 21st I got a neg on a early pregnancy test this morning. So anticipating the start of my period I have been looking when I whipe and no sign of starting... my confusion is that without any other discharge I have cervical mucas EXACTLY like what described while ovulating, the egg whilte like consistantcy? I was under the impression that the CM started out white n thick then changed to the egg white looking CM in the days prior to ovulating. on the days following ovualting this CM drastically dissapears and remains basically dry through the end of your Luteal Phase? AM I mis informed? Should this consistancy of cervical mucas be present at this stage of my cycle?? Or what would you think of this?
well usually your discharge does lighten up again after ovulation but if you are like me, when I'm pregnant I continue to have the heavier, egg white discharge. That's one way I know I'm pregnant :) So I don't want to get your hopes up but if you don't start today I would wait another day or so and then take another test. Good luck.
Keep charting. A book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility has become a GODSEND for me. And, on day three of my cycle, I can tell you that I noticed very similar CM to what you're describing, on the day the bleeding started. It's not quite the same as the egghwhite at ovulation...it was more creamy. EW will hang off of your tissue, just as real egg whites would.
It will take MONTHS before you can accurately predict exactly what your body is doing...but at least you're not in the dark any more!!
I agree with the ovulation predictors and learning the signs of when you are ovulating. I read Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler and it helped with conceiving two kids by tracking CM and my basal temp. first thing in the morning. The other thing I'd add is that right before I get my period, like a day or two before, I get white cervical mucous too, but it's not the ovulation/stretchy kind, it's thinner. That's how I know my period is almost here. That could be what you have, but of course, any time you try for a pregnancy you can *always* be pregnant! If you're late in a couple of days, try a test again. Good luck with it all.

I would get an Ovulation Predictor Kit to be sure. Around $15-30 at your local pharmacy.
I think it sounds like you may have conceived, but that does not mean that you are pregnant yet. The egg still needs to implant and be accepted by the body. I have had a couple where my period was late and I was sure I was pregnant, but it didn't take so I had a heavy period about a week late. Remember that only 30% of conceptions result in a pregnancy. The body is very picky about what it will keep and what needs to be expunged for some reason. Also, I have never had any luck with early tests. I have never had one come up with a positive before 6 weeks, so don't worry if it isn't positive yet. It doesn't mean you aren't pregnant, it just means you haven't made enough hgc to register on the stick yet. Good Luck!
