Our Britax Roundabouts are well past expired so we can't donate them. I hate to throw this big item in the trash and fill a land-fill. Anyone know of what else we can do with it. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Babies R Us used to have a program where if you brought in an old carseat you got a discount off a new one. I'm assuming they have some sort of recycling plans for the old ones, but don't know what it is exactly. Maybe they could give you some ideas?

Contact Britax to find out if they have a program for their expired car seats.

http://www.britaxusa.com/car-seats/retired-car-seats

Then i would check with my local police and/or fire department to see if they know of any programs that take back old/expired car seats.

good luck!

OK, come on, how in the world can a car seat expire???? Is it made of lettuce and meat?? Maybe that's just a way to get new parents to by new rather than shop at consignment stores and garage sales.

OK, I'm stepping down from my soap box (for now).

No, I don't, unless a fire house or safety inspection site wants them for training. You can also consider saving and reselling the covers if they are in good shape.

They expire because of safety standards, i assume plastic deteriorates or parts can wear out, I am with Michelle G that i doubt they wear out quite a quickly as the manufacters say, but ...

i don't have a better idea than the posts you have already gotten but i smiled because my answer to your title was to make a planter out of it, lol, the way they take all sorts of other junk like old tricycles or bathtubs or even, my fav an old bed headboard to make a flowerbed, hee hee bad joke night at my house.
