My daughter now almost 12 has had eczema since she was a baby, it started out on her butt( not htere any more ) and has moved to her arm bends back of her knees and her head.. I used Johnsons baby shampoo for years and it helped.. But now we use Natures baby and head and shoulders sensitive care, she alternates them and it seems to have worked its been yrs since she has had the itching and flaking on her head....... good luck it is a terrible skin condition
Arbonne works! 45 day money back guarantee if you should be the one person it doesn't help. Check out my website at www.lynnrawson.myarbonne.com. The prices may seem high, but consider it will be the last place you shop for products that work for exczema and they are pure, safe and beneficial. I recommend the tea tree oil shampoo, because this will also protect against head lice. Tea Tree Oil is a natural deterent to head lice.
Let me know if you need more info. Good luck!
Get a hair care product with tea tree oil in it. You can get some from melalueca.com (or frm me I order the stuff every onth) or you can look for it in some slons I think Nexus makes a really good one too.
We use California Baby which is great for excema. You can buy it at target. We also used Dermasmooth oil(comes Rx and not) for the body you may want to try it to clear it up initially.Good Luck:)
Hi L.!
Poor little boy, that must be hard! I would love to share some great botanically based products for washing and also for the entire body. It is very mild and gentle and helps very sensitive skin like your son's. You need good products that won't aggravate the condition, but also that don't contain mineral oil in them that won't clog pores and do absolutely nothing because mineral oil's molecular structure does not penetrate into the skin. There is a great oil, body lotion and diaper cream as well. I would love to be able to help you and your son out. I can send you some pictures and testimonials to show you how great the products are. Best of health to you,
K.
Hi L.!
I have three products that have worked amazingly for not only my son but my neice and nephew as well. They are all Arbonne products (all botanically based health and wellness company), and I PROMISE as a mother I'm not just saying this because I'm a consultant because before I became a consultant I was just a product lover! They actually work! The first is a tea-tree oil shampoo- its great for the entire family but gentle enough for babies, and great for cradle cap. The second is a baby shampoo and body wash, and the third is a baby body oil- made with all essential plant oils, jojoba, and antioxidants. I have samples of all of these that you can try out before you make a purchase. Please let me know if you'd like me to mail them to you or drop them off for you. Blessings, A. V.
My doc suggested Coltar.
I haven't tried it yet, but that is what they reccomend. I guess you can get it at Walgreens over the counter.
Hi L.,
I'm sorry to hear about your son, however, what he is experiencing is not uncommon - especially this time of year. I am with a company that does have natural products that can help your son. You can either to my website at http://www.LiveTotalWellness.com/B. or feel free to contact me at ###-###-####. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have or at least assist you in finding your son some relief.
I use Aveeno when my younger son's skin is irritated. Works great and is really gentle. I also use the cream on his skin.
We use Aveeno Baby Shampoo. My kids are little, but I know the DR. told us that Aveeno is a great shampoo and soap (great brand overall to use with Exzima) b/c it's so gentle.
If you son has eczema, then he most likely has a dairy allergy. It is often overlooked and misdiagnosed. I cannot tell you how many mothers I know that have taken all dairy products out of their kids diets and the eczema clears right up. Lotions, hair products don't treat the internal issue. Whatever we eat comes out in our skin, hair, behavior, etc. www.drrapp.com is a great resource and has a great chapter on eczema in her book, Is This My Child? Excessive dandruff is a sign of too much sugar in the diet and not only the white sugar, high sugar fruits, wheat and dairy is the other sugar. Again, the book discusses this and can be purchases on amazon.
Feel free to email me if you have more questions.

Gentle Naturals by Baby Orajel makes a hair and body wash. I found it at Target and Walgreens. Also, I have found the Beaudrox's product line to be very nice as well for this sort of thing. Both my kids have very dry, sensitive skin and this seems to help. The other thing that popped into my head was this...if he has thick, or longer hair sometimes soap does not get rinsed as well as it should of the hair, and it can cause kind of a fungal growth at the scalp. This is quite common with kids, especially when your trying to rinse their hair in aq bath verses a shower. You could try some tea tree oil shampoo (anti bacterial/anti fungal) and rinse like crazy. i actually have a hand held shower hooked up to my regular shower to rinse my kids hair with as well as my own. I used to see this all the time when I was a hair stylist.
We had issues with my daughter's scalp. We went to a dermatologist and they prescribed something that took it away. I would go to a derm and get it checked out.
