Hey B.,

I really like the mary kay eye cream.... I think it is in the time wise collection. But, I feel like it is great for wrinkles and I use it around my mouth too. It really tightens my skin as soon as I put it on. Hope it helps!

Dark circles are often the product of allergies/sinus trouble, so maybe you need a good antihistimine. I really like OTC Zyrtec.

Also, I've seen a lot of stuff recently about "smoker's mouth" (lines around the mouth) in non-smokers and they say it is because we use straws and waterbottles so much that women are getting them who don't smoke!

Just a couple of thoughts!

OMG, i have found this incredible stuff and it is all totally natural. the company is www.sarah-noelle.com and they sell oatmeal masks/scrubs and some have fruit in them and feel so good! and your skin will feel so smooth afterwards. They also have this stuff called "Da Balm". It can be used for anything. It's made from Honey, Beeswax, Olive Oil and Coconut oil. Anyway, you can use it for the dry spots on your elbows, knees and feet, you can use it for lip balm and,...guess what....lines and wrinkles around your eyes and mouth!!! it fills them in.

That website also has a lot of good tips about using natural products like honey. if you put honey in your hands and mix a little water with it and then pat it around your eyes and that helps with the bags. I first read that and thought "I'm not putting that sticky junk on my face!" but i did try it and it's totally not sticky. I guess when mixed with water, it takes the sticky out of it. who knows. I also mix honey and water with the oatmeal mix to make a mask and it is totally not nasty feeling.

check out that website. They'r stuff is pretty reasonably priced. I think for a 12.00 bag of oatmeal mix you get 24 masks and that DaBalm stuff is one of those "a little dabble 'll do ya" so it lasts forever.

anywho, good luck!!!

Just another idea to throw in the pot - Nicole Miller Skin Care - no toxic chemicals, high performance...beating the performance of the department store products. The line is manufactured by Melaleuca - The Wellness Company; a membership with them (shopping monthly for your normal stuff - saving money and time) will get you a 40% discount off the retail of Nicole Miller. Makes high quality skin care available to the average woman...and they have the wrinkle fighting/dark circle removing eye products. I have used the line for years!

I've noticed that sometimes not drinking enough water can cause dark circles to form under the eyes -- and I've noticed it in my children (ages 3-4), so it's not just an "age" thing. It may be that when you're slightly dehydrated, your body uses the less-necessary fluid from under your skin, and this takes away some of the plumpness and color of that section under the eyes -- because the skin there is so much thinner and more noticeable than elsewhere. You can keep a diary of how much water you drink, so you know you're drinking enough (you'll probably start drinking more, just because you're thinking about it), or keep a bottle or jug of water close by (and keep it refilled), so you can drink all throughout the day.

You may not be outside as much as 'BC' (before children) and don't get as much sun. Also, we all 'fade out' as we get older (I'm 51 and pretty 'pasty'! LOL).

Also, be sure to drink plenty of plain (preferrably filtered) water. This helps all kinds of things -- joint mobility, skin texture, weight, digestion, etc, etc. (I need to take a large 'dose of my own medicine', too, as I've not been drinking enough . . . )

Avoid caffeiene and nicotine, too, as any stimulants 'age' a person somewhat.

God bless!

HI B.,

Dark Circles under the eyes are sometimes indicator of food/seasonal allergies or parasites. My daughter(she was 4.5/5 at the time) suffered from dark circles and we tried food eliminations, allergy meds and nothing helped. After a trip to a nutritionist and a computer scan, we determined she had parasites and detoxed her body with Cell Food. Once her body detoxed her circles were gone.

As for the wrinkles, I suggest Arbonne. I've never used the products myself but I have heard great things about then and they are free of toxins and chemicals...so I've heard. I would suggest choosing a product free of parabens(methyl and propyl). Most of the cosmetics marketed today contain these toxins.

If you've ruled out that your iron is low, you might consider trying accupuncture. Accupuncturist are able to clear out any interference going on. I have a friend that was under the care of an accupunturist for infertility issues and she was amazed to find that she had color restored to her face and lips due to him clearing out interferences with circulation. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen the change myself.

The recommendation to drink plenty of water is also a good one. Good luck.

Peace,
J.

Though your iron is good, maybe you aren't getting enough of other essential vitamins/minerals. Do you take a daily multi-vitamin?

You said you tried wrinkle creams, but have you tried any face care SYSTEMS? I've heard a lot of good things from women I know who use the Loreal Regenerist line of skin care products. It's a system meant to work together so only using one or two products may not achieve the best results. Garnier also has a new line out that I heard is worth trying.

I personally like Neutrogena skin products though I haven't used any of their anti-aging products.

Also, if you don't already, wear a sunscreen (or use a moisturizer with spf 15) everyday on your face and neck to help prevent future lines and age spots. Drinking enough water is also really good for your skin.

I can totally relate!!!! I have never been a "tan" person....tried cannot, just burn, so I am pale naturally, but as I have gotten older it seems to have increased as my dark circles have deepened. The thing that has really worked for me: exercise, as hard as it can be to stay motivated and find the time, but after I exercise my skin looks soooo much better. Also, fluids, drink plenty of fluids it helps keep the skin tissue hydrated and naturally plumps out those wrinkles. Also, making sure that I remove my makeup completely each night before bed. AND there are some good products right now such as Loreal's wrinkle serum (I think is the name). It is in a very small green bottle with a dropper top. It takes about two drops per eye/or lip area. You simple follow the instructions - gently apply to the area and then do not smile or make any facial expressions for about 3 mins (until it works its magic). I was shocked! It really filled out my "sunken" areas around my eyes and those wrinkles around my lips. I don't use it daily, but it really works. There are others that are good too. Try cool packs around your eyes (I bought a gel face mask that I keep in the fridge). When I am especially dark and/or puffy, I put it on while I am cooking, making breakfast for the kids, etc. Only takes a few minutes.
Hope this helps.

However, I am a consultant for Mary Kay Skin Care - and I can tell you that they have fabulous products for the areas you are talking about. I do know some people in the Fayetteville area that are consultants and I can direct you to them if you like.

Hope this helps.

B.,

Dr. Maureen Maples has an all natural and organic line of body and skin care products that I have been using. She has a goat's milk bar for cleansing and a shea souffle for moisturizing that our customers have found really help with the wrinkles and the texture of the skin. I have used one brand of skin care for years and have recently switched. There may also be an underlying problem that causes the dark circles that her other products can help with.

Please give me a call and we can talk. ###-###-####

Please have a complete blood work done to check your hormones. If the doctor says you are in a normal range, I would check out a good health food store and speak to someone knowledgeable. You might have a vitamin deficiency. Please keep looking to see if it is something on the inside, and don't just cover up the outside. ( : Good luck!

I have started getting dark circles since becoming pregnant with number 2. I was told to try B12 that I could find at a natural or health food store. I have just been told this so I haven't tried it, yet. As for the wrinkles, try more sleep and proper nutrition, if you aren't already. Believe it or not, this is a great help in making you look so much younger. Good luck.

Iron isn't the only thing that can cause anemia. Also consider vitamin B and D. If you don't get at least 15 minutes of non sunscreen skin exposure everyday then you probably have a vitamin D deficiency.

Also, my best wrinkle cream is the Walgreens alpha hydrox cream. It's wonderful at softening the skin around my eyes and mouth.
