Aveeno has fragrance free varieties just for babies.
Or Eucerin.
And bathe her less. are you using any soap on her face? Really, just water will do.
A humidifier running at night might help as well.
Hi Mamas,
My 4 month old has dry skin on her cheeks, no ezcema, it's probably due to the cold weather.
Is there any products you could recommend that I could put on her cheeks?
Currently I am putting vaseline, but I heard that vaseline is not a good idea for the face because it blocks the pores?
Anything safe and frangrance free I could use?
Thanks.

Coconut oil is natural and won't sting. You can get it at Whole Foods (cooking section -- just ask someone) -- and probably other stores too. My doctor told me to use that on my son's eczema as he was saying even the gentlest lotions "stung". He loves the coconut oil.
Aveeno Baby is my favorite for this (natural ingredients like oatmeal are very effective). My son got dry cheeks this past winter and I rubbed Aveeno Baby lotion throughout the day. I was watching The Doctors the other day and the pediatrician was talking about babies with dry skin. He recommended that you continually rub lotion onto the dry areas. As soon as you notice that all of the lotion has been absorbed, put more. You can rub it on as much as is needed. I did that with my son and it cleared up pretty quickly. Cetaphil is also a good choice as well as the Johnsons lotion that is in the yellow bottle (fragrence free).
I used Boudreaux Baby Kisses for both of my little ones for their dry cheeks. Worked like a charm. I also used it for myself on my lips.

Vaseline is fully of chemicals; I wouldn't use that on a baby anywhere, but certainly not her face. Cetaphil is a good choice, or any organic/natural lotion. Go to Whole Foods or another natural store and the staff can give you really good recommendations. The main thing is that baby skin will really soak up whatever you put on - so any chemicals will soak right into your baby. That's why I'd recommend something that's more natural than vaseline.
I suggest CeraVe. You can find it at Target (I could not find it at Walmart). I would double check with her pediatrician since she is so young.
Cetaphil lotion and they have a fragrance free and sensitive skin one. this is great for kids with sensitive skin.
Vaseline is fine.
I've used it myself for years.
It's odorless and invisible.
Some lanolin or coconut oil or olive oil would work too.
Bag Balm is great for chapped hands but it does have a scent that not everyone is crazy about so I wouldn't use it on the face.
I personally wouldn't put anything on my 4 month old baby. I would contact my pediatrician to see if there is a reason for the dry skin...it's 85 degrees here in Washington, D.C. we didn't have a winter here this year...
I wouldn't put vaseline on a face either...on her bottom? Yes. But NOT a face. I use Mary Kay Night Time Extra Emollient cream on my face and my boys...I don't remember any of my kids having dry skin at 4 months.
talk with your pediatrician.
I have used Cetaphil lotion on both my boys since they were itty bitty per our pediatrician b/c my boys do have dry skin/eczema.
ezcema, as my ped told me, is really just severely dry skin. so it's not a "bad" word. my son has the same "chapped cheeks" we use the Aveeno ezcema on it and it looks better within minutes! highly recommended.
When my son had really dry skin our pediatrician recommended Eucerin. It's really thick and greasy, but it works.
I agree with checking with her doctor to find out if it is truly dry skin. I wouldn't use vaseline on anypart of my body any longer and definitely not a baby's anywhere. I use jojoba oil or cocoa butter or coconut oil on the face. Less chemical more natural. Again I would caution you to check with your doctor.
