HI Moms - hubby's medical school is having a fundraiser and we're going to do the facepainting - ON FRIDAY!

What are the best supplies to get? What brand goes on easy, best bang for buck? Anything I shouldn't get?

Any tips for succes?

I love doig full face but also can little things - do you recommend a menu?

What's popular with kids for this?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

I do face painting every year for my daughter's preschool. I like Snazaroo best bc they are non toxic. I let the kids look at the Snazaroo book and pick what they want although some kids come up with something totally unique and I just do my best! I find a face sponge and several brushes, water and paper towels are good supplies. Make sure to have a very small brush for tiny strokes. The most popular ones at the fall fiesta were butterflies (like a half mask over the nose with the wings on both cheeks), to be a tiger or cat, bat mask, spiderman, and swirls with sparkles around one eye and down the cheek.

This book and paint is all you need:

Read the reviews, they say it all. It doesn't look like much but we had this for several years, we used it for birthday parties and several scout events. Not only was the paint high quality but the directions were very specific and easy to follow, everything from a simple heart or butterfly to full on zombie makeup, it's all there!

Snazaroo by far. I do parties and use them. Most professionals do as well. Michaels carries a kit

I have tried a few brands and really liked Tulip brand. I bought a small kit at Michaels for about $15 but used the 40% off coupon. The paints went on really smoothly and were vibrant and stayed on well. The little paint pots were small so it was great for a family reunion but you would need a lot for a fundraiser I would imagine.

Rush on over to a craft store.
Or many stores already have face painting things, because Halloween supplies are already being sold in most all stores and I've seen face painting things already.

Or, the brand "Klutz" has face painting kits, which also includes a book for ideas etc. and how to's.
In my city, places like Barnes and Noble bookstore, carries it.
Here's a link for Klutz and what their kits look like:

Or go to an art supply store. They have face painting kits too.

But hope you are not the only face painter???
Otherwise, per the crowd of kids that want face painting, your supplies will run out quickly.
