I've used Nu Skin, Beauti Control and Mary Kay. Mary Kay wins hands down! I had softer skin in a week!
I would like some recommendations on facial products. I'm in the market for a kit that has the necessities. I have used plenty of different ones in the past but never stuck to a routine. But i am finally determined to stick to something! I would like to know what products work for you. Also how often do you purchase them. I'm curious about Mary Kay (not looking for a consultant) but any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks
P.S. I have normal skin with an oily T-zone. Also price doesn't matter as long as it works great! :)

I am NOT a seller of Mary Kay, but I love their skin care. I was like you for so long...never stuck to anything. After I had my son, I felt like I looked tired all the time (ok, I was, but I didn't want to look it!). A good friend is an MK consultant, and I asked her to help me out. The system is simple (I don't do well with too many steps to the process!), and I use some products from the anti-aging line and some from the Velocity line (it's for teens - keep breakouts to zero!). I am so happy with it.
I love the Philosophy line! They have everything and its good for your skin. They have a really great microderm abrasion kit that really softens and cleans your skin without being harsh. They have essential kits too and their daily cleanser called Purity is Amazing.
If your looking for cheap the Nutrageina (Sp?) Wave is great. I use it everyday and my skins never been better.
I have used Philosophy for the past six years. I have tried every thing out there and this is the one that works best for me. They have kits for different skin types and skin issues. I love the Purity Made Simple cleanser, it is so gentle and it does not make your get that tight feeling. I also use the Hope in a Jar moisturizer at night and the On A Clear Day moisturize during the day. You can get them at Sephora and since they have a Sephora in J C Penny's now it is easy to get. Plus the products last a long time to.
I use Mary Kay and have for 12 years. The skincare has done a great job of balancing my skins dry and oily(t-zone) areas. I've tried them all, these products really deliver!
I use the Time Wise and it last about 2 months
I agree with Elizabeth J Arbonne is hands down the best. Mary Kay broke me out. Arbonne has products especially for oily skin that will take care of that T-Zone my daughters love the FC5 Mattifying powder we have FC5 products specifically for oily skin and we have everything you need. I will PM you my info so you can check them out. The products are very concentrated since they do NOT put in any added fillers and NO chemicals only pure, natural herbs and botanicals.
A friend of mine started selling Avon a few months ago so I bought some moisturizer (mostly to support her, I'm not a big "product" person) I'm 38 but I got the "Over 40" night cream. At first I didn't notice anything, but after about a month I really see a difference! My skin looks GREAT!!! I'm hooked. I'm working on using up the random bottles of day time face cream, and once I'm done I'll be ordering the day time stuff from Avon as well. Highly recommend it!
I really like Neutrogena.
I have sensitive, super dry, but yet oily skin.
My husband uses their line too, he also loves it.
I love Enfuselle by Shaklee. I used it on only one side of my face for 3 days to prove to myself that it worked. I also took a "before" pic. I could count the number of wrinkles that were gone in just 3 days. Everyone guesses my age at least 10 years younger than I am. And believe me, with all that I have been through, I should look 10 years or more older than I am. They also make hand and body lotion and sunscreen, so my skin all over looks younger--no age spots or crepiness like I see on other women my age.
There are 8 patents on the line. They last me about 6 months, making them very economical. Let me know if you are interested and I will give you the website.
I use any nutragena products. I am currently using the wave sonic. It makes my face really soft and keeps it from breaking out! Plus makes it feel so fresh and clean. Ive also used an acne kit they sell at walgreens by nutragena. It comes in a 3 pack and it works real well!. Id recommend anything nutragena (thats not how you spell it but i cant remember how, lol)
I am partial to Burt's Bees products, having been using them for almost a decade (maybe longer?). I use everything from the cleanser, scrub, and facial lotion, and also the tinted lipgloss. For occasional deep cleansing masks, I have been using Alba papaya enzyme mask.
C.,
I have to be VERY careful with the products I use, so I had my doctor look at several skin care lines. Upon his recommendation, I use Skinlogics facial products by BC. I LOVE the fact that my skin looks and feels so soft without feeling greasy.
I tried a trial kit first, so less $ was invested. The products are medium price range and they last a LONG time. I only buy the full size about 3 times a year.
If interested, I can get you in contact with my distributor. I also live in Garland.
Good Luck,
K.

I love Melaleuca's facial care line. They have a good price point for a skin care set, and you can mix the cleanser, toner and lotion, to match what your needs are, and they also have other skin care products, like a night cream, eye soothing get., anti-age serum (which I love and completely diminished my frown lines within weeks) etc. I use their acne line ($16) because I have a oily t-zone so it minimizes the oil but it also doesn't dry out the rest of my skin like other acne/oily skin care lines do. But it comes with a cleanser, toner, and a time-released cream that controls the oil, and then I just buy their oil free moisturizer and the anti-age serum. I think all together I spent around $50 every 2 months.
I have used Mary Kay's Timewise for over five years now. I love it and get compliments on my skin. I feel like I have a more youthful glow and my skin feels very soft.
I've used Arbonne for the past 6 years, the anti-aging line. It's pricey and you need a consultant, but my skin looks SO good for my age. A family friend is almost a decade younger than me, and her skin makes her look older, all dry and wrinkly. When I notice that, I'm so glad I take the time and pay the money for what I do.
Like you, I tried everything and never really stuck to a brand for long because there was something I never really liked about each of the lines I used.
I finally found something that really works and really changed my skin!!
I use DHC. Recieved catalogs and samples for at least 2 years from them and finally used the samples and loved it. It's a Japanese line of olive oil based skin care & makeup. Olive oil sounds weird (no it's not the thick cooking kind) - but it works wonders and surprisingly is NOT greasy at all.
There are several different sets for your skin type or skin issue. I use the CoQ10 Complete Care Set: Gel it's $88 Helps w/ keeping my skin supple and helps w/ wrinkles I'm starting to develop, and I'm the gel is perfect since creams cause me to go oily. The set lasts me about 1 1/2- 2 months although I run out of "soap sheets" first as you only get 40 sheets. You can buy individual products also if you don't want a set.
I HIGHLY recommend at least getting the Deep Cleansing Oil (Takes off your makeup like a dream! Use this first then you use soap). I also really recommend the Olive Virgin Oil, this is the BEST for moisturizing the occasional stubborn dry patch on your face or when your skin feels super dry. I use this and then I use my gel moisturizer.

You can request FREE samples and a catalog from them with NO OBLIGATION. You don't have to join anything either. I think they only sell from their catalog or online. I don't know of an actual store you could go to.
I love this stuff so much - sounds like I'm selling it huh?? :)
I'm passionate because I used to work the cosmetic counter in my 20's - only focused on the cosmetics and really ignored the skin care part!!
Also - if you do purchase make sure you check with www.retailmenot.com
for a coupon code if available. You can sometimes save 10% or more if there's a usable discount code available. Here's a link: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/dhccare.com
Make sure you take care of your skin. I'm 42 now and thank goodness I started taking care of my skin 10 years ago!! I wish I would have started sooner!! Also last thing, SUNSCREEN ON YOUR FACE wear it!!!! Here is the BEST sunscreen in the whole world, it's super light and you can skip using a moisturizer if you want, it's from Neutrogena and costs about $12 http://www.neutrogena.com/product/ultra+sheer+liquid+dail...
Good luck! :)
Mary Kay is fabulous - I grew up using Mary Kay and honestly people would compliment my skin all the time (it was strange). Since I have had children though, I can't seem to remember to re-order and end up having to buy something else until the product comes in and all that. I've been using different stuff, I tried Dermalogica - was not at all impressed and that stuff is expensive! Tried Avon, it was just ok. Tried various other recommendations and ended up using store brand stuff b/c it is fast and easy and none of it compares to Mary Kay's results. I can definitely tell a difference. I don't know any consultants but I would definitely recommend Mary Kay. Good Luck!

I use Mary Kay and love it. I use TimeWise in the winter, but I am super oily and tend to break out so in the summer I usually use their Velocity cleanser and moisturizer (still use a few of the other "aging" products"). They might have just been being nice, but I had someone ask me about my age a couple weeks ago, said they thought I was in my late 20's - I am in my late 30's. I swear Mary Kay has a lot to do with it. I've used it since my early 20's.
