As long as they have no power in them, there won't be a problem. I think it's funny that kids wear these. I had to wear glasses my whole childhood and I hated them! So for kids to actually WANT to wear glasses... I just find it odd. haha!

Eh I don't know about that "brand". But my 4 yr old loves pretending to be Clark Kent. I got him a pair of thick black rim glasses at the dollar store and popped out the lenses.

Are the glasses you refer to tinted/sunglasses? B/c from what I hear, sunglasses need to have UV protection. If they DON'T, then your pupils are still dialating (b/c of the tint) but letting in the sun's harmful rays.

The fake glasses that they sell at those stores have plastic in them. It doesn't change their sight at all. It's just like wearing sunglasses...

This was a big trend at the end of the school year. My daughter wanted a pair but I didn't cave since I've been wearing real glasses since I was 5. It's all fun and games until you have to wear them for real. With my history with glasses I fully expect my girls to need them sooner than later so they can get their fill then.

On the other hand I know that there was one girl in my daughter's class that needed real glasses. She pretended like they were fake ones. In that sense I thought the trend helped her to cover the fact she needed them.

I'm not too familiar with these brands of fake glasses, but if you want an "accessory" pair of glasses, it's best to ensure that the lenses are "plano" (ones with no power). Because especially with cheap/ low-quality fake glasses, they can have pretty annoying side effects including nausea, headaches, eye strain etc which may pose some effect to your eyesight in the long run.
Hope I helped! :)

Not if they're just "glass". Like sunglasses.
UNLESS they're in any way 'warped'. If the lens is warped it could cause vision damage.
