I bought my Honda CR-V when it was 2 years old--in 2000! So it's a 98 and still going strong. Had some work done here and there, as well as the routine maintenance--oil changes, etc., but nothing major to speak of. I love it! This is a die-hard vehicle. Gets through any weather--I've never been stuck in the snow. Fits kids, pets and baggage. I will drive it til it drops. Good luck to you!

My Honda CRV is 3 years old. I think its a great car. My daughter is over 6 ft tall and can ride in the backseat. The back cargo area is roomy. Other than general maintenance - no problems.

We have a Tirbute, and have not had any problems with it - it is now 5 years old. It is a bit bigger then your other 2 options as well. We were able to fit 3 car seat in the back. Happy car-shopping!

I love the Honda CRV. I bought mine new but it is now 5 years old and still runs great. I have an 05, and that year they were best in class (or whatever car term is used) for the small crossover SUV's. They usually are. I don't know about every year, but they are pretty frequently, including this year. I didn't look at a Mazda but compared Rav 4's and CRV's and a few others, and the Honda was better all around, hands down. It is a smaller SUV, but you can tell that just looking at it, and bigger than the Rav4 I believe. I had a hard time bringing home a crib (disassembled in box) in it, but for your average stuff, everything fits great. 2 carseats plus a person across the back is not really going to happen though. It gets the best gas mileage of the class as well. Well, my year did. And has the best resale value. I used MSN Autos comparison tool to do some of my research, as well as consumer reports.

My only complaints on it are that it is a little loud for road noise (again, my year is, they may have changed that). But getting a little better quality tires when I had to replace them really helped that. And the hatch that opens sideways opens backwards, it seems like to me. I think it should swing from the other side. I honestly think those are my only 2 complaints.

Our neighbors just got a CRV and love it. With Toyotas issues right now I would stay with a Honda.

I have a honda civic hybrid with 140000 and it is running strong. My mom has a Honda CRV and seems to love it it is 7 years old and 75000 miles. We are both very pleased with our Hondas, although I would not recommend a hybrid as they are very expensive to upkeep and it does not off set the savings in gas.
Good luck!

We bought a 2006 CRV two years ago. We were actually looking at the 2007s, but those were redesigned and I couldn't see out of the windows are easily. I love the '06! Decent gas mileage for the size and we can fit a ton in there.

My brother had a used Toyota Rav4 for years. He loved that car, and never had a single issue with it.
