Hello I am seeking a Baptist or Nondenom.. church in the Irving or surrounding areas. Since moving here I have not found a church like the one from back home. I would love a church that has meetings and activities for husband and wife and children. I would like a church where I can get involved in more then just your regular Sunday morning service and Bible Study. Can anyone please help me.....
My husband belongs to a church already but he joined this church before we got married and I just can't seem to fit in. He has agreed to visit different churches with me until we find one that we like together.

What can I do next?

My husband and I are the Children's pastors at Grace Pointe Church in Irving. We have a diverse church that is very family oriented. I have been in church my whole life, and we have been at this church almost 5 years as the Children's Pastors. I truly love this church. Please visit our website, and also feel free to email or call anyone on the staff or the church itself. There is usually someone at the church mon-fri from 9:00 to 4:00. The website is:
mygracepointe.com and there are email addresses and phone numbers on the site.

All the churches people responded with are incredible places to worship. If you want something not quite so big, though, we attend Lakewood Baptist in Irving. It's just south of 183 on Esters.

We run about 250-350 on Sunday mornings, but we're growing! We have a diverse congregation; white, black, hispanic, asian, all are welcome!

I'm also a stay at home mom, my son is 18 months old... it goes by so fast!

Just pray about it and God will lead you where He wants you to be!

God Bless,
A.

C.,

I am a member of Covenant Church in Carrolton, Texas, which is a nondenominatioanl church with diveristy. It is a wonderful Church; however, I could be biased because I am a member. But please look at the website www.covenantchurch.org and watch one of the services on-line. I think you will be very pleased. Also, we have added what Paster calls a "Satellite" church, (a branch) of Covenant of Carrollton to the list. We are a growing Church that is expanding. We have wonder Life Teams as well. The Grapevine/Southlake Church is located not very far from you and if you were to go on-line and look up the address you will see that it would only be about 15 min from home. Visit for one Sunday and see if this is what you are looking for. The Pastors' there are Pastor Rick and Cyd Tejada. We are a very Chrismatic church with the Holy Spirit in the House.

I pray you find your home. For He will show you where it is.

God Bless
T.

Have you ever heard of The Potters House? Bishop T.D. Jakes? Well it's a great church, it's in Dallas, not too far from the Irving area. You take loop 12 south to 408 south exit Kiest and make a right. You will see the church on the right side (not hard to miss it's huge). It is a nondenominational church, 77% African-American
13% Caucasian
7% Hispanic
3% Other – comprised of 17 different nationalities. There are tons of ways to be involved at the church. Here is the website www.thepottershouse.org. Hope this helps.

Hi C.,

Like April we too go to Irving Bible church. I realy like it there. The childrens program is amazing, I wish something like that existed when I was a child... There are lots of home groups and lady's bible studies etc.
The first time we went there we were afraid it would be too big, too many people. But it just felt right, and we haven't skiped one sunday since.

Good luck!

Hello, there is a church a little further from you in Carrollton called Covenant Church that is pretty diverse. My husband and I are a mixed couple and we went there a few times, but ultimately decided on church that is mostly black in Richardson (North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship if you get interested). Our church is wonderful - but I'm one of the very few white folks in attendance so it may not be your style. Covenant church is very contemporary and really prides itself of diversity and individual involvement so it might be worth the 15-20 minutes drive from where you are in Irving. The Lord will lead you to the right place of worship for you and your family.

We felt the same way that you did when we came to this area and was so glad that the Lord led us to Covenant Church. Covenant Church has a very good children's ministry and they learn about the Lord regardless of age. It is a large congregation; however, they do have many ministries you can become involved in as well as Life Teams for any area of interest for you (young married life with children and without, business professionals, women's groups, etc.) The purpose of the Life Teams is to make the church small so you can connect with people that are in the same stage of life that you are in. This is also an outreach tool. For example, people that do not belong to Covenant, but have a passion for writing or are entrepeneur's are encouraged and welcome in the group. I love that outreach aspect. I also like that they hold service on Saturday evenings at 7:00 p.m., as well as Sunday services at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 (spanish speaking service). They also have different campuses throughout the DFW area. In addition, you can watch the service live on-line as well. With my little ones I sometimes find it hard to make it to the service so I watch it online. You can check out what Covenant has to offer by visiting their website at www.covenantchurch.org

I would be happy to meet you and your family if you would like to check it out.

I agree w/Calandra Covanent Church in Carrollton right off of Trinity Mills is a very diversed church and the worship service is Great. I don't go there anymore because my youngest has separation/stranger anxiety and I felt he wasn't comfortable there.

Fellowship church in Grapevine is also an AWESOME church.
Good Luck and I hope the lord will guide you to the perfect home church.

God Bless

I'd love to invite you to my church in Irving. Irving Bible Church www.irvingbible.org We have people from every walk of life there... have a very active sunday school and children's program. I love the family classes and there are TONS of progams you can get plugged into and active with... there are even home groups that meet in various locations.... it's a non demoninational church but is more on the "contemporary" side (meaning we have a full band for our worship service, people wear jeans and shorts... whatever they are more comfortable in... etc.) They have 4 services on Sundays... if you'd like more information or would like to meet someone there to show you around, please feel free to shoot me an e-mail off list and I'll be glad to meet you there and show you around. :)

It's a BIG church with the feel of a small church -- especially once you get plugged in. I've taught sunday school there, helped out in the nursery and am currently an AWANA teacher on Wednesday nights there.

I, too, was looking for a church to call "home" when I tried it because that's where my dentist went... and I never ever went to another church. It was just the best fit for me. Churches are such a personal "thing" ... but I would at least encourage you to come check it out.
