P.K.
Mexico is so dangerous these days. There is soooooo much to see here in the good old USA! Why not think about a trip to some of the national parks.
What's your favorite family place to vacation in Mexico?
Would love some suggestions.
We've already been to Cancun, so something different would be great =)

Mexico can be dangerous if your not staying in a gated resort. We LOVE Dreams's resorts and are going back to dreams Puerto Adventures in Feb.
We really never leave the resort because we love it so much. Have gone 6 years in a row to different Dreams resorts.
Just make sure before you pick a place you read the State Department's website on places NOT to go in Mexico. It's become a very dangerous country and travel to much of the country is not recommended. The danger hot spots change over time, so do your research...
When we go to mexico we stay in Cancun central at the Holiday Inn. Most individuals go to hotel row. Its more american than america at times. When you stay in the center you really get to enjoy the real cancun life. Then we take buses down to the pyramids and then there is this place accross from cozumel where you can swim with the dolphins. The new place to visit now is beliz you might want to consider that.
Isla mujeres, a ferry ride from Cancun. Tiny island with beautiful beaches, we enjoyed beautiful snorkeling, Garrafon beach was full of beautiful fish, we saw crabs crossing the street at night, turtles laying their eggs in the dark, got our picture taken with a shark (they called it a cat shark) from a boat we saw dolphins frolicking right next to us and we swam with whale sharks (only in certain season)
My husband and I just traveled to Cabo San Lucas on a business trip this past spring break. We stayed at a resort and felt very safe. It was called Fiesta Americana. The sand and water was simply breathtaking.
As mentioned in previous responses, be very careful. I personally don't think we would take our family to Mexico right now. I felt pretty safe traveling off the resort in Cabo because my husband speaks Portuguese and Spanish and right off the bat started speaking to the drivers in Spanish. We ALWAYS traveled around town in a group. It was a lovely place with very kind and hospitable people.
