I am looking into planning our family vacation for June. I am looking for your experiences and suggestions. We have 3 boys (ages 7 and twins that are 5). We love swimming and anything family oriented.

We drove to Florida 2 years ago and we are looking for something that could be as far as South Carolina or closer. Thank you in advance!!

What can I do next?

I'd go to Cedar Point in Sandusky. They have a water park as well as kids rides. Stay at the Kalahari. It's a giant indoor water park. We loved it when we stayed.

Pigeon Forge, TN is in the great smokey mountains and a brilliant time for families. There are tons of outdoor activities and dollywood is just down the road. According to mapsquest it's 8hrs and 45mins and 533 mil3s away.

Hershey Park, Pa is a ton of fun, has a water park and is about a hour from amish country in lancaster and philly which has a ton of fun things to do and historical attractions. There is a great hotel there called the Park Inn that has an indoor pool, outdoor pool, putt putt course, volleyball court, and playground included in the stay. The only drawback is the outdoor entrance to the rooms, but it was very safe when we stayed there, the rooms were clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. it is. It is 5 hrs and 47 mins or 343 miles away.

Chicago has a ton of fun stuff to do and is 5 hrs and 34 mins and 346 miles away.

Ocean City, MD is about 8 hrs and 57 mins and 495 miles away. There are hotels on the beach, a boardwalk, ammusements park rides, beach museums, shops, restuarants. There is a waterpark as well, an old time fun park, ripleys believe it or not museum. You will definitely not be bored.

Niagra Falls--Cape Cod, both are about a days drive from Cleveland.

I would go online and start looking at vacation spots you are interested in and then mapquest the area to see how close they are. I looked into driving to Cape Cod from my house last summer and it's a 21 hour drive. I live about 30 miles south of Green Bay WI. I got the driving directions from mapquest and the route they suggested took me near Niagra Falls and Southeast from there. I changed the route to take what looked like a more direct route and found out it was a little further.

It depends upon what you are interested in. I love history and museums as well as soaking up the sun on a beach and swimming. So a drive to Cape Cod, stopping along the route to check out interesting places sounded good to me. But I would be going alone, my best friend said if her work schedule and vacation time worked out she would like to tag along.

My brother went to school on Cleveland and the drive to and from was about 11 hours.

We have a timeshare which forces us on vacation every year since we’ve already paid for it but with our little kids it has proven difficult so we do “mini” vacations (3/4 days here and there) so here is what we are planning:
Massanutten resort VA, Nashville TN, Orlando FL, Williamsburg VA & New Bern NC
The best thing you can do is Google kid activities and find the activities that will keep your kids entertained and not cost you an arm & leg
Good Luck

Ohio has some great state parks. My kids loved Salt Fork and Hueston Woods.
They have a lodge and both have lakes and pools. Some fun activities too.
