Fat Loss 4 Idiots Diet

I am very curious about this "new" diet plan, well new to me. I just can't find good detailed information on it even when I googled the name or looked at the official site. Has anybody used this before and it is worth the money? Also, how long can you use that Diet Generator program once you pay them the $40...current price of this diet plan.

I am 35 years old and very much overweight. I need to get this weight off as my mom is an insulin dependent diabetic and was diagnosed in her late 30s early 40s. So, you know tick tock for me.

Thanks!
J.

So What Happened?

After much consideration and prayer, I was led to the Lord's Table bible study. Praise report: A friend of mine at church and I were trying to find a bible study to do together, and she will be doing this study as well though I don't think she is at all in need of dieting. I emailed her to be my accountablity partner explaining the program and she is signing up too...God is good!!

Thank you all again for so many suggestions and encouraging words. I pray others out there looking for help with diet can also find their answers here.

A special thanks to the mom who led me to the study...I can't remember your name, sorry.

I wanted to reply to this request in particular as I am an overweight mommy as well. I have tried everything under the sun to lose weight, when my cousin suggested that I look up this free (FREE!!!) websight called Sparkpeople.com. It is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me. I have lost 30 lbs so far, and I am still dropping. This websight gives you all the tools and information that you could possibly need, along with support from millions of others on there doing the same thing! You can track your food intake to watch the amount of calories you are putting in your body. Man was that a wake up call for me. There is an exercise tracker. There are millions of articles and exercise suggestions, even for people who have been sedentary for a while. There are message boards and places to go to ask any questions you might have. The founder of the sight is also an active member, and he is very helpful if you need anything. This is just a suggestion, but if it helps you or anyone out there than it was worth writing to you today. I am as active on this sight as possible, and if you do decide to join you can look me up if you like and I would also be glad to help in any way possible. My screen name on SP is Mel-O-Yellow. The best thing about this sight and it's program is that it is not really a diet as such. It is full on training to change your eating habbits so that the weight you lose stays gone. It shows you how to make a lifestyle change so that your overall health and wellbeing is improved. I wish you great success in weightloss journey, and I hope that this is helpfull.

Have you been to your doctor? I know that I was completely honest with mine. Even told him how diabetes runs in my family. After having my daughter a year later, still could lose the wieght. I am very active. Coaching step daughters softball team, then coaching basketball, not to mention that I bowl 3 times a week. He put me on tenuate. It is a diet pill that give me the kick start. Lost 40 pounds on it and is still gone. OTC diets along with any pill diet works only temporary. You still have to change eating habits and exercise. Also do a body cleanse/fasting before you start any diet.

I am not familiar with this diet. I have been using Isagenix. It is a cleansing and detoxing program. For a diet to be successful, you need to remove the toxins to keep the weight off. I have lost 2 dress sizes.

They have a 9 day and a 30 day program. You can visit http://www.cleansedforlife.com to get an overview of why cleansing is important for your health.

Hi J.,
I read that you mention 'God' in your request, so I thought you may be interested in a FREE bible study I did that helped me lose weight....and helped in SO many other areas of my life that it was amazing.

www.settingcaptivesfree.com

Look down on the left for "The Lord's Table" Phase 1

You will be assigned a mentor and the bible study is the difference in being successful in losing weight. It was great and I highly recommend it. I have a friend that has done this as well and she shared it with me...both of us had great success. It is not easy, but it is fulfilling and shows you even more about Gods word than I ever realized...especially regarding this topic.

Before you spend any money on another diet plan, believe me, I've spent money on many, you might give www.sparkpeople.com a try. It's completely free, has tools to track your food and exercise, has a multitude of healthy recipes and different weight loss related articles and the best part, in my opinion, is all the forums, groups and challenges offered on the message boards. I've lost almost 25 pounds already and it's not cost me a thing. Good luck!

Hi J.!

Please let me tell you a little about myself. I am 54 years old, a happily married woman with 3 step-children and 5 step-grandchildren. I have been obese most of my life and have tried nearly every diet out there and I can tell you that diets don't work. NONE OF THEM!! About a year ago I found the resources I had in my closet for WeighDown Workshop which I did in 1998. I was at 220 lbs and wearing a 22-24 dress size. This program works!! Thanks to the Lord, I'm now in a size 14 and down to 155 and still losing!! I feel great!! You can check out this program at www.weighdownworkshop.com or google Gwen Shamblin for all the info. I'm planning on starting a group here in Granbury soon. If interested, please contact me at ____@____.com, I noticed that you do medical transcription in your home. How is that going? I'm doing home school for that and am about 2/3 finished. Any info you have on that would be most helpful. And, I am a scrapbook enthusiast. Have you ever gone to Croppin' Queens scrapbook shop for any of their crops? Looks like we have a lot in common.

I hope I have helped you with the diet thing. WeighDown Workshop works in ways that the others don't even approach.

Dear J.,
I am not aware of the program that you are inquiring about. The name is a little off putting, though. I struggled with my weight for years and have now been within my "ideal range" for over 3 years. I discovered that my weight had a great deal to do with my emotional habits. I did a seminar program called Pathways Core Training(not a workout)that helped me deal with the fact that my personal boundaries were non-existent among other things. I learned to stop stuffing a lot of my feelings. It also made it easier for me to make choices like Weight Watchers and be successful when in the past I would have said that "those plans don't work for me".
I wish you powerful success and if you are interested in hearing more from me please feel free to email me at ____@____.com

I don't know about this diet, but Weight Watchers worked wonders for me. I've lost 97lbs on Weight Watchers in the last 15 months. For me, I need the support and information I get at the meetings. Make up your mind that you are going to loose the weight, track what you eat and don't give up. Even when you have a gain or go off the plan make up your mind before you start that you are going to do it this time.

Hi J.
i am also in my early 30's and i am an insulin dependent. With insulin in our systems like that we get a har time to get rid of the weight. I am following my diet and not skiping mels help a lot. As i said following my 200 calorie diet. Eating balanced meals helps a lot. And walking or making sure that you stay active. I have tried so many diets and one of them worked. Eating what i am supposed and not junk food. Vegetables, salads and the right portions. That way i have been managed my sugar levels and the doctor has to give me a smallr dosage of insulin. Witch is good. And also prescribed me a pill (metformin) he said that will hel me to loos all the weight that i gained with the insulin.
Hope my experience helps you a little bit.

I did it for 2 rounds. I liked the first round more than the second round. I lost 7 lbs. the first 11 days, but only 2 the second 11 days. I backed way off on my exercise intensity, practiced effortless effort.

I ate more fruits and I ate simpler, rather than a well rounded meal 3 times a day. Also, it gave me a chance to practice eating to satisfied and no where near full. I became more aware of what I was eating, how much I was eating, and how enjoyable the food was. Overall, I am encouraged by what I learned by the experience.

I have received Lucy Beale's newsletter for many years and love it. She has always emphasized a healthy diet as a way of life, not "Dieting." You can subscribe to her newsletter at ____@____.com

Hi J.,

So funny, I just posted this same question last week. I did go ahead and sign up. I'm on day 3 and have lost 3 lbs. It is definitely NOT a way to eat for life but I'm really enjoying it and I feel great. It isn't a really expensive way of eating as far as what kind of food you have to buy. I did a lot of research before I finally gave in and found a lot of good reviews. For me this is a good jumpstart and I am so excited and motivated.

Basically it is like this:
You pick 40 of the foods you like off the list in their Diet Generator....foods like specific types of fruit, chicken, fish, shrimp, green veges....etc. The diet generator then makes up a menu for 11 days that you have to stay true to. Also the website encourages a 30 minute brisk walk in the morning AND in the evening and drinking LOTS of water. The main idea is that it is "jacking" with you metabolism so your body is just trying to catch up. We tend to eat the basic same thing everyday so our bodies only set up to metabolize our normal way of eating. This way of eating speeds up the metabolism and burns fat at a higher rate. So far I do not see this as a "fad" diet since I'm eating a lot of fruit, veges, and high protein type food. After being on this for 11 days, you get 3 days of "cheat" days so you can have a reasonable amount of what you want for 3 days and then go back to your website, log in, and the generator prints out another 11 days of menus.

I really like it so far. I have about 35 pounds to lose and it is encouraging to see and feel it literally dropping off. After this jump start I will probably go with weight watchers.
I will warn you that this isn't really easy as some of your meals include a piece of halibut and walnuts. That's it. But you get to eat 4 times a day. If you want the first couple of days menu, email me and I'll share it with you.

Good luck, I know this weight loss thing can be frustrating. I'm turning 40 this year and 40 is going "down" sister. I'm going to be looking good when I blow out those 40 candles in August : )

I do not have any information on this diet. I do know that diet do not really work. Sometimes we just need a jump start into nutrition to get our bodies back on track and our energy up. I've done this diet before and it does work. The problem is that once you go off of it, you gain all the weight back and more! It's impossible to stay on it forever b/c it's too restrictive. I suggest do weight watchers b/c it's more of a lifestyle vrs. a diet. Don't waste your money on this!

I have to tell you right off the bat DIETS DON'T WORK!!! You have to make a life style change, you lose the weight on a diet you just gain it back, because you go back to your same behaviors. My suggestion would be to invest in the ultimate weight loss of Dr. Phil's and go though the steps. You can even find his books and Cd's and cook book on ebay for lower cost. Good Luck!

I have been on and off diets since I was fat and 13. The best diet/eating program that I have ever found is Weight Watchers. You can eat everything and live a normal life. I've tried everything from the new WuYi Tea that Oprah promotes (she has packed the wieght back on), and nothing works like WW. Good support, good food.

Don't give up. Get through today. And figure out why you are eating, too.

Hi J.,

I never heard of this book.

Instead of dieting have you ever thought of making a lifestyle change? Most people go on and off diets all their life and usually when they get off the diet they get fatter just after they go off the diet. The reason is that they lose protein instead of fat. So for every pound of protein they lose when they go back to eating the same way as before they get fatter. Because it takes 4 pounds of water to re-metabolize the pound of protein they lost. Hence more weight gain. The key is not to lose protien when going on a diet. You want to maximize your fat loss.

One thing that helped me to get my weight under control was to understand how the body works and how nutrition and exercise play a huge role.

If you would like to know more please call me at ###-###-####.

One thing you may want to do is to make a diary of the foods you eat for a week and be honest with yourself. It is not about the calories the foods contain, it is about the quality of the foods. How nutritionally dense are the foods you are eating! The higher the nutritional density the better quality of foods. So eat your fruits, veggie, whole grains and drink plenty of water.

Hi J.,
I also have never heard of the diet you are mentioning but like most women have tried many things and failed. When I finally couldn't recognize myself in the mirror I went to my doctor. He wouldn't help me until he knew that I was committed to getting the weight off. I had started doing kickboxing classes and going to the gym 4 days a week, which helps but won't get the weight off without dieting. Many people say dieting doesn't work but it is the only way to lose weight, that doesn't mean starving yourself or cutting calories to rediculous levels. He prescribed me Phentermine to help control my appetite while I was dieting and told me to choose a diet and stick to it. Weight Watchers is What he reccommended as an easy lifestyle diet to stick with but to get the weight off faster Atkins or South Beach Diet. I started the south beach diet and lost 9 lbs in one week. Over all I have lost 20lbs in the past 2 months. I slacked off the diet and stopped losing as fast but am back to it now. It is great for diebetics because it constricts carbs and all foods that raise your blood sugar. It is healthier than atkins not allowing the heavy fat foods like bacon and cheeseburgers. The book is cheap like $7 at most books stores. probably even in the library, read it and try it out for a couple of weeks and see how much you lose. I'm not saying it's fun. It pretty much restricted everything that I liked to eat but it works!
Best of LUCK!
