hi ladies - has anyone heard of this? I just read about it and of course the internet can scare a person but was curious if anyone had any experience? I am an A cup and have about 15 extra pounds on me which i was told could get me to a full B. My biggest concern is that my mom is a breast cancer survivor and the internet has suggested it is harded to detect problems with this kind of augmentation. my mom is fully supportive of me doing this since we are both very very very small chested. any opionions out there? I am not interested in going to a C cup or larger, i just want to wear something other than a training bra

What can I do next?

I dunno, I've also heard about reabsorption and other funkiness from fat transfer breast augmentation, I say let someone else be the guinea pig on that one. But as for traditional breast implants, I got mine about a month ago so they're still healing but THEY ARE AWESOME. I went from an A on the left and AA on the right to a pair of full C's. Sweetness.

i agree with dawn-there's a reason they use implants. last summer, i got an augmentation and liposuction. i love love love my breasts. i have so much more confidence and feel better in my own skin. the lipo cost the same as my breasts (i got upper and lower abdomen and flanks) i can tell a difference, but not a 5 grand difference. i wish i would have gotten a tummy tuck, but then i'd still have love handles. i totally recommend the breast augmentation. everything will change-the way clothes fit, your attitude, your sex life, your confidence, your choices of tops, etc.

I do remember reading an article about this topic but can't recall where. It mentioned that the results from this type of procedure weren't always the best because the Dr. can't really control how the fat will distribute and you may end up with a "cellulite" looking appearance. It also said that fat can be reabsorbed into the body or lost thus losing some of the initial fullness. My advice would be to research it and find someone that has had it done already. Good Luck!

Really really research the risks. A gal I know is a breast cance survivor and decided to reconstruct using belly fat. She has gone through a year and a half of pure hell. Infection after infection. she doctors at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. So she has had the best of the best working on her, but her journey is still far from over. I don't mean to scare you, but please do your homework and weigh the risks. Maybe a tummy tuck, then implants is safer?

Hi D.,
Sorry that this post is late but this is close to my heart and wanted to tell you my thoughts.
My mother was also a breat cancer survivor ,well a little over 30 years.Eventually she was genetically tested and it turned out she had a genetic mutation.Eventually her 4 children were also tested to see if they carried the genetic mutation. But even before the testing. She was always on top of us to get breast exams and mamograms and of course Drs see us as very high risk.
Even if you are not a carrier of the gene once a mother has this disease you will always be catagorized as high risk.
So with that info I being always an A cup never once thought about doing anything that would jepordize a hard to detect problem.
However there are MRIs now that detect the slightest of anything.
If I were you and seriously thinking of doing it I would get a few Drs opinons. Not from the plastic surgeons but from Drs that specialize in the treatment of breast and breast surgery.
I go once a year for a Mammo and then 6 months later for a breast ultra sound. Some women in high risk who know they have the gene go every 3 months rotating with an MRI.

So when making your decision make sure you are as educated as possible.

The best cure for this diease is very early detection.
I am so glad to hear your mother is a survivor!!!
Wishing you the best in your decision.

Hi, D.:

I would advise to use eternal application of support rather
than surgery.

Just my thoughts. Good luck. D.

I recently had my saline implants removed after about 10 years because of health concerns. I have considered the fat transfer as well and have my hesitations so don't have much advice on that part but am very aware that as much as mammograms are recommended they INCREASE your chance of breast cancer! Why would anyone, especially one at risk, choose this method of early detection? Check out thermography and HALO for alternatives!
We also must keep in mind that there are multiple reasons certain women are more at risk and that there is a cumulative effect of these causes that raise risk even more.

I have not heard of this. I do know if breast cancer runs in your family it is adviced not to get implants because it does make it harder to detect lumps. I know a person always wants what they don't have but I am a C cup and would love to be smaller. My boobs are always in my way and even with a good sports bra high impact exercise can be painful. I think you should learn to love what you have been given :)
