So with the Holiday's my husbands friend asked me what to get his wife. I can't even tell my own husband what I want let alone provide advice for him. So my question is what are some of your favorite gifts or stocking stuffers you have been given over the years?

What can I do next?

ANYTHING SHINEY!! Most guys make jewelry the 'main gift' for their wives... I say, since we do stockings last, it would be a huge treat to pull a little wrapped box out of the bottom of my stocking, thinking all the good stuff is already opened, only to find a beautiful ring or bracelet.... THAT would be pretty special. Can't go wrong with jewelry!!

My favorite gifts from past years that stand out in my mind:

A Pandora bracelet. Completed--all beads picked out by my husband and son. (Your friend could get a starter bracelet, 2 clasps and a bead to begin O.--then he'll never have to ask you again wheat to get her!)

Gift cards to my favorite clothing places so I can scoop up some after-holiday dirt cheap sales!

Anything from Origins except the Dr Weil plant based stuff - hate that! (The Ginger Souffle cream is to DIE for!)

Origins Ginger essence perfume. (Large bottle lasts me almost 2 years, I wear it almost every day--about 50-60 bucks.)

my iPod & iTunes gift cards

iPhone (on my list for this year)

my iMac (Can you tell we're an Apple family?)

Pictures of my child--in a frame, ready to hang.

Hair salon gift certificates (especially when I was going to a really expensive place!)

NICE leather gloves--you know the kind that are WAY too expensive, but you have them for a decade? Yeah..those!)

Oh! And O. year my husband also got me a digital picture frame, which I love.

Gift certificates for pedicures or favorite hair salon

Nice zip up hoodies (Columbie or Northface - they hold up really nice)

My favorite though was last year my husband purchased some very nice photo albums - the type that you pull back the plastic and the other side as the sticky on it to place the picture. I was able to put all the kids professional pics (ie Walmart, babies r us photos, haha) that do not fit in normal size photo albums and protect them. Me and the kids just pulled out the book last night and looked at it. It is nice to have somewhere to protect my 8X10 (and other larger sizes) pictures. (he found them at Michaels Craft Store and they are the type you can add pages as needed)

If she is athletic, training for something, or just would like to get in better shape and lose some weight? I would suggest some personal training sessions. One year I was wanting to train for a triathlon and my husband got me some master swim classes thru our local recreation center. Also one year thru our rec center he got me a group personal training class. These are all very reasonable thru your local recreation center. Then last year we joined a gym and he got me some personal training thru that. These all seem to come at a great time sinced New Year's resolutions are right around the corner.

For stocking stuffers, I always like getting some magazines I don't normally get, a new book, chocolate, and some new fuzzy socks.

Get some of the basics down...Her size and favorite color. I agree with the nice hoodie. Even the pickietst person can't object. They are versitile. Yes a GC for a mani/pedi if she likes that or one to her favortie restaurant. Is she a Starbucks junkie? :) Does she wear jewelry? There are so many options. Does she like to cook? I am so at a loss myself with some people. I ordered spices from www.coastalgoods.com They are unique and fabulous.

Now as a stocking stuffer...believe it or not I was given an electronic tire pressure gauge from my DH's sister...I thought hmmmmm...but it has been a life saver....especially when my tire pressure light goes on in the car. I just get it out and the digital number pops up so I don't have to guess. Best wishes.

We typically don't do big gifts or things like that because we get what we want/need during the year.

Our Christmas tree will have a couple of gifts under it for us from daughter and something small to me from hubby which is typically a spa day or something like that.

Last year, my daughter turned 16 on the 27th and promptly got her driver license and we knew all along that she would get my car that I loved.

So, I was quite shocked and surprised when hubby presented me with a new shiny convertible!! I don't think he will ever top that one!!

For my 40th bday he gave me a small Mazda Miata convertible and for my 45th he gave me the car that my daughter inherited.

Jewelry is always nice if she wears a lot of jewelry. I have great diamond studs, engagement ring and gold watch and I don't wear any other jewelry.

I do enjoy the spa days!

this is hard since I don't know her, know how much money he has to spend or how well you know her....

Do they ski? if so - something for skiing...

what do they like to do together? Is there a show coming out that she might want to go to?

I don't know how much money he has to spend either...if he has $$$$ - jewelry is a great thing a LOT of women like...

What are some of the best gifts I've received? I can giggle - it's not the materialistic things - I got a framed picture of my mom and dad and the picture is GREAT!!! It hangs in my hallway....

Coupons from my kids to rub my back or paint my toe nails...

If she has an ipod - a gift card for tunes might be a great stocking stuffer.

I like books.

This year I am telling everyone I wanted "ebay money", paperbackswap credits, "yummies", "any old thing"

One year my daughter got EVERYBODY fuzzy slipper socks. Another year my son got everybody a scarf. I would love a new pair of nice leather-like gloves.
