My younger daughter will be attending a few birthday parties in the next week for girl's turning 5 years old. If you have a 5 year old or have attended a birthday party of one lately, please let me know what are the FAVORITE gifts that have been received by friends (so reasonable in price...vs. bigger investment by a family member). Thanks so much. Many Blessings - L.

My daughter is 5 and goes to Birthday parties all the time. The Disney Princess Dolls were always a hit. Target in Mckinney did have them on sale for 7.00. Also Play makeup and jewelry are always great! My girls love them! Little Pet shop, My Little Pony and Bratz dolls are also a fave among the parties we have been too as well as Barbie. The last party I went to I did the bag up with some play doh, play make up, and bracelets, and a color book and crayons another I did was crayola color wonders. Which the kids love! Good Luck!

Webkinz are always a hit and they cost is only $12.99 and five year old girls love the little jewelry sets, make up sets, decorate your own dress up shoes sets. Klutz also makes a book that comes all the things you would need to make a tiara or a tutu set. All are under $15.00!
If you live in Houston - several boutiques will also wrap up the present - Hip Hop Lollipop on Edloe or Imagination Toys on Bellaire.

You may not have enough time to go online and order this but I run a traveling party business and one of the party types I offer is build-your-own stuffed animals. You can also purchase the animals in kits to go to give as a gift so the child gets to stuff the cuddly collectible themselves!! This is a big hit! The kit comes with an animal, the stuffing, instructions, a rainbow wish star and a birth certificate in a colorful ark abode box, all for only $13-$18 plus shipping. Then you can purchase outfits or t-shirts for the animals.
Very cute.

It depends on upbring and parents preference. I have been to a few birthdays for girls around 5 and they love the dress up fairy/princess clothes or the kid plastic heels/sandals. You can get them at toys r us for around $20. I made dress up dresses for my best friends little girl, but I doubt I would send that much time on a friend I really wasn't close to.

Oh- There is so much to choose from... Littlest Pet Shop, Polly Pocket, My Little Pony and Barbie. I think any of these would be a sure hit, and most sets are under 10.00. Target and Wal Mart both have great selections of the above items. My daughter is 6 and still plays with these toys and has for a couple of years. My favorites to play with my daughter are Littlest Pet Shop and My Little Pony. Good Luck!

Hi-My 5 year old daughter went to a birthday party a few weeks ago for a boy turning 6 and the gift that was the biggest hit was a Webkinz stuffed animal. They cost around $15. This is what my daughter is asking for for Christmas. They seem to be pretty popular with the kindergartners!! Hope this helps. Have a great holiday! Andrea

My daughter is 5 and I think this is the easiest age for little girls. They want EVERYTHING that is "girly". She loves anything Disney princess, My Little Pony, Barbie, Littlest Pet Shop, Polly Pocket. We have also given several stick horses that look like unicorns and make noise at recent birthday parties. They have been a big hit each time. They are sold at Toys R Us for $12.99.
