M.D.
I have had a love hate relationship with plenty of vacuums, but hands down my Dyson is the best ever!!
I got mixed reviews about the Dyson so now I'm REALLY confused!
Does anyone have more feedback on which BRAND TO get or WHAT TO STAY AWAY FROM????
I would LOVE to get a Kirby but that is not happening. So please suggest something a little cheaper......lol. We were set on a Dyson but the reviews online and here have mostly been a completely love or completely hate relationship...... So now I'm EVEN MORE confused! I haven't been able to vacuum for months! I NEED to get one SOON!
Thanks!
Ended up going with the Dyson Animal Upright. Loving it so far!
I have had a love hate relationship with plenty of vacuums, but hands down my Dyson is the best ever!!
Love our dyson animal. It's over 5 years old and still does an amazing job. When we first got it we had just vacuumed with the old one, used the dyson and got a full canister out of every room. The hose is long enough to do the steps without ever moving the vacuum. The one time it didn't seem to be working well, I looked online and realized the filters needed to be cleaned (it was at least 3 years old at this point and had never been done and we were living in Az at the time-lots of dust). After a quick rinsing and they dried it worked perfect again. We are cleaning up after 3 cats, 1 dog, 2 adults and a baby and our dyson does an amazing job.
I have liked our Hoover Wind Tunnel. It's a bagless, but I think it comes with bags, too. We've always had multiple pets, and I feel it gets hair off the carpet well. We've had ours about 9 years, and it still works well. We've replaces filters once -- but they might have needed it before we thought of it! My only complaint is that it's a little dusty to dump the dirt -- but it seems like that would be an issue with all bagless?
I feel like it cleans well, and the attachments are all on the machine and easy to pop on and off. I haul it around our split level (not always super carefully) and it's held up well.
I like my Hoover Windtunnel Supreme. It has bags, I don't like the bagless they're too messy to empty. My Windtunnel works great and is 5 years old.
Roomba from irobot has changed my life! :). I am in love with it.
Dyson ball vacuum hands down.
I have had my Dirt Devil for 8 yrs now & the past week well I think it's not doing such a great job mine at the time was about 100 bucks I shop @ Sears for items like this
DYSON are the best IMO!
Good luck!
I have a Dyson and absolutely love it. It works very good on everything from dog hair, to pellet dust/asshes/to kids! good luck!
If Kirby's are too expensive, look on Craigslist for a used one. I bought mine and love it! I saw a Kirby on the MInneapolis Craigslist for $600 obo the other day which is a steal since I paid $1200 for mine.
We were going to get a dyson, but then saw reviews on the Shark Navigator. It was much cheaper and I LOVE it. We found it on Craigslist and it was brand new.
I love my Riccar (the best vacuum you've never heard of). It's a vacuum store only.
I have an Oreck and LOVE it!
Picks up EVERYTHING and is so light and quiet.
I have a Miele and love it! You can buy them at vacuum cleaner stores. It is at least half as quiet as the Hoover I had (that one scared my kids). It has great cleaning power, super long power cord, hose and extentions are already conected just pull them out and go, handle swivels. Check out their website and watch the video. My kids both want to help me vacuum now, never wanted to do that before.
Kirby hands down.
Try E-Bay. I just bought a slightly used Kirby for $200 (that retails for $1,985, which is WAY out of my price range).
It is simply awesome. Best motor around. My parents bought one back in 1968 and it JUST died. There were 3 kids and 3 dogs, so that vac got used a lot.
I see the other posts about Kirby and I just don't get it. Our new Kirby is not heavy or noisy. There is a gear for "drive" which makes it very lightweight. The other vacs don't come close. We were buying a new vac once a year. If you can find decent used on Ebay or Craig's list, go for it!
