If she is nursing then nurse her first, before foods. Breast milk holds her entire nutrition and she doesn't even need table food. If she nurses first she gets all the nutrients she needs then the table food doesn't take up space.
My 11 month old is doing better at not gagging on finger foods. So far she can eat blueberries, avocado, banana, green beans, peas, chicken (sometimes, she is picky) and some other soft fruits and veggies. My Dr. told me to avoid anything with dairy in it since she has been sensitive to dairy through my breastmilk (I don't eat dairy right now because she would spit up and be gassy/crabby). So I need suggestions of other foods to try. Everything seems to have dairy or eggs in the ingredients! I was going to give her some pancakes but they have eggs in there, and the Dr. said don't do egg whites until 1 year. (I have made her egg yolk, but she doesn't really like them, and who would, they aren't fluffy and yummy without the egg whites).
Any suggestions of what foods to try? Keep in mind I am trying to fatten her up a bit (she has slowed on her growth curve a bit).
Also, is it normal for her to not want to nurse at all during the day when she starts eating more solids?

My son doesn't eat dairy or eggs. We do a lot of baked goods from scratch. You can buy dairy-free margarine (earth's balance and nucoa are good brands) and you can replace eggs in any recipe (we make pancakes at home). Use this to substitute each egg in a recipe:
1.5 TBSP oil
1.5 TBSP water
1 tsp baking powder
mix all three ingredients together, then add to the recipe when you would normally add the egg
Also, check out "What's To Eat? The milk-free, egg-free, nut-free cookbook"
Other suggestions:
Ritz crackers
pasta
pork
ground beef
sweet potatoes
bread
rice
waffles (Vans brand makes some dairy/egg-free varieties)
graham crackers
As long as the eggs are cooked, there is no risk according to both my pedi and my daughter's nutritionist. Egg whites are a potential allergen, but since your daughter is close to one year, give it a try. It's not like kids develop new cells that are able to fight allergies between 11 and 12 months. And for what its' worth - eggs are a frequent first food in the rest of the world.
As for fattening, spread almond or sunbutter on bread. Cook all of her veggies in olive oil.
My daughter can handle egg if it's extensively heated (cookies, cake etc...) but that's not true of all kids. I'd try some soups & don't use too much broth. She can eat lunch meats, hot dogs, hummus, pretzels, smoothies without dairy, there are a million things but it does take some time to realize this. Can she have soy? I find pancakes that don't require egg (I think they're Fiber 1) and use soy milk if they require milk, mashed potatoes using soy milk & Blue Bonnet Light margarine which is a soy product. Chicken nuggets, hamburger, pasta, meatballs (if made without egg & cheese which I do), Cheerios, oatmeal....I could go on forever. My suggestion is to think of what you'd like her to try and then look around to see if you can find it without dairy. In our area we have an allergy free store which is awesome! They're only online now but that works well for you. Here's their site. Good luck!
