I have two car seats (one was given to me and the other I bought at a sale) that I am trying to find out information on. Does anyone know how I can find that our. They are Eddie Bauer and the codes are 22862EBC and 22750MGN. I just need to know how old they are and if they are front.rear facing. Thank you!!

What can I do next?

As with Amber S...unless you know & trust who you bought them from don't use them. Even the manufacturer will (should) tell you that even if a carseat has been in a small fender bender (low impact car accident) it can have cracks that you can see in the foam & plastic.
Again, unless you know & trust the people you bought the seats from, your children are safer if you buy new seats.

You can also check the Eddie Bauer website for more info. The date they were made should be stamped into the plastic or there should be a sticker that says the manufacture date.

God bless!

You should be able to do one of two things. You could go to Eddie Baur's website. There should be a search/keyword box to type in the model numbers. Or you could also trying doing a Google search. Type in something like "Eddie Baur car seat info" or type in "Eddie Baur car seat model #####" and type in the actual number for the search.
Good luck!!

Hi R.-
My Husband is a carseat tech for the Fire Dept he works for.Anyway I think he can look the seats up for you.And as far as how old they are should be printed on the label. It should say a manufactered date and they are good for 6 years after that. However he would advise that you not use a carseat if you do not know the history of it.If a carseat has been involved in an accident it is no longer safe, etc. That's why they do not allow consignment shops to sell them anymore! As far as if you can rear face a seat it would have a place to put the belt (or latch)underneath the front of the seat.If it's just in the back you can not rear face it.If you have anymore questions please feel free to contact me!My Husband would not mind! Also if you or anyone that you sit for is unable to afford a seat please contact me because I can tell you about the program that my Husband works with!Hope this helps!
God Bless,C.

Call the manufacturer. There should be a customer service number on the seat, call that and give them the numbers, they should be able to help you. Also, look for an expiration date. All new seats have expiration dates on them.

Also, an extra warning. Please be careful using used carseats. If you trust the source, then that's fine. But, please be sure that the seats haven't been in any sort of car accident. Check the plastic molding, the styrofoam, the straps. Make sure none of it is cracked, chipped, or frayed.

I would never buy or use a used car seat unless you know the person well and trust them to tell you the truth if it was ever in an accident of any kind, and be sure they now the history and whether anyone else driving the car the seats were in was ever in an accident. There could be tiny cracks or fissures in the plastic you cannot see. Also, I believe the limit is five years they are viable because plastic breaks down due to exposure to heat and cold weather. Either condition makes them UNSAFE!
