I'm going to a fondue party and need to bring stuff to dip into chocolate and cheese. Any fun ideas besides the standard strawberries, bananas, etc? Especially ideas for the cheese dip! Thanks!

Frozen mini-cream puffs. They have them at Costco in a large white plastic tub. Really yummy in chocolate!

Fondue parties are my favorite! Big chunks of french bread are great in the cheese dip. As for the chocolate dip, we like pound cake, coconut bread, pretzels, and marshmallows!

have fun!

Raw veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, bell peppers are great for the cheese. Try graham crackers, marshmallows, Nilla Wafers, pound cake, mini brownies for the chocolate. Pretzels and crunchy breadsticks would work for either.

For cheese dip: soft pretzels, garlic toast, fried ravioli (can buy these frozen. I think its a TGI Friday's product at the Grocery store), Boboli pizza shells cut up.

I love fondue! I went to a party once where someone made a cheese and crab meat dip. It was sooooo yummy! Have fun :)

Chunks of grilled ckn in the cheese fondue.

If you don't have time yourself to grill...get frozen.
You can get frozen mesquite grilled chicken breasts in frozen foods section.

They are made by Tyson.

Have fun!

Hi C.-

For the cheese--bread, apples, broccoli, and cauliflower are great! As for the chocolate, my favorites are pineapple and pound cake, in addition to the traditional stuff. Hope this gave you some ideas!

We had granny smith (green) apples with cheese, and it was yummy. Also sourdough bread pieces, As far as chocoalte goes, brownie bites, marshmallows were very good, in addition to the usual fruit choices. Also my personal favorite---cream puffs (you can find those in the freezer section, with other desserts like the pies and such) Have fun and enjoy!

I went to one once where the host had cut up sweet Italian chicken sausage for the cheese dip. It was surprisingly good.

Traditional fondue is eaten with French bread type of bread, preferably a day old, and cut up into cubes or leave as slices and people can break the bread into pieces themselves. Being Swiss decent (first-genreration American) I've never eaten anything else in a cheese fondue besides bread. Interesting ideas, especially the Granny Smith apples. I wonder if my parents would be willing to forgo tradition and try something different. Hmm...
