When my son was a neborn I would travel with his powdered formula and a bottle of water(room temp). So when it was time to feed him, I would just mix the two and shake them up!

warming the formula is not good. Formula warmed really only stays good for about up to an 1 1/2 hrs. I use powder... no warming, just shake and ur ready!

i didn't make it before hand long when my son was little. once i found the on the go packets of formula that was that, cause you can get water anywhere and as long as you can find a sink w/running hot water you can warm it up. i think its more sanitary then leaving formula made sitting. alot more convienant to.

you should not leave prepared formula for more than 2 hours. Formula spoils(and bacteria grows) very easily and can mess up baby's stomach. What I do is basically the same but I put warm/hot water in a thermos and then keep a little container with powder formula and when I am ready to use it just mix in the bottle and feed. This also prevents wasting formula. I don't recommend keeping formula warm and ready for any prolonged period of time. But fyi:If you have breastmilk, it is good at room temperature for up to 6 hours! good luck! also the formula companies usually make conveniant travel containers, either ready to feed cans (just open the can when you are ready to feed, very easy) or travel powder packets. When my baby was very little we used the cans to travel but now he is 5 months and doesn't eat as often so I use the powder packets.

i put the water in a bottle and then bring the powder in a container..then just mix the powder when youre ready to feed him. i have a bottle warmer in my car (it plugs into the lighter socket thing) ..or you can run the bottle under hot water if you are somewhere that has a bathroom. i think thats the best thing because bacteria grows really fast and they say to use prepared formula within 2 hours.
