Hi A.,
I have a mom-owned business called Good Times Invitations in Oak Lawn. Do you need help with favors or invitations?
Thank you.

Hi moms!
I am currently planning my sister-in-law's baby shower, and I have already sunk way more money into this shower that I had planned to/can afford, so I am looking for some fun, clever, yet very inexpensive (or, even better, free!) ideas for games. Any and all ideas are welcome!
Thanks, moms, in advance! :-)

we did several baby shower games for a good friend of mine who just had twins. game one. go online and look up tv families.
put the name of the tv show on the left of the paper and then the guests have to guess the names of all the children. extra point if they come up with the name of a child who came on later in the series (oliver in the brady bunch etc)
another game was put the names of all the animals you can think of on the left side of your paper and then over on the right in mixed up order put the names of the babies cow / calve, horse / colt dog / puppy etc.... this is a fun game.
another fun one is to get a bunch of baby food at the store use a marker to mark the tops of the babyfood jars 1,2,3 etc on a paper write the names of the foods. have all the guests guess what they are. then mommy has to taste them and guess. the person with the most answers right wins. these are all fun games and the only cost is paper and a few jars of babyfood. good luck
showers are a lot of work but so much fun.

HI A.-
I just did a quick search to get more ideas since the ones I originally thought of have been shared already from other moms.
I haven't ordered anything from the website below but it looks good and prices seem very reasonable. I do agree with the other moms who have posted.... make sure your sister in law wants or doesn't mind games at her shower. If she says yes, agree on a certain amount of time that will be used for games.

Have fun!

the 4 games we just did:
We bought a pack of bibs (terry cloth) and crayola fabric markers and had each guest design a bib for the mom-to-be (more of an activity not a game).
We bought special tape, but you could use crepe paper and have people guess how big around mommy's tummy is and whoever is closest wins.
We made a list of words and scrambled them up and had people unscramble them. Whoever got the most correct won.
We recited a poem about Mrs. Wright's baby shower - whoever ended up with the gift won.
You could also do baby shower bingo - give each guest a blank bingo card and they fill in the squares with the gifts they think mommy would get. Whoever gets bingo first wins. Or you could fill a jar with something and have people guess how many of whatever is in the jar - whoever gets closest wins. Or you could melt come chocolate candy pieces (different ones) on some diapers (disposable or not) and have people guess what candy it is (it will look like baby poop) - whoever gets the most right wins.
Hope that helps.
No offense to the PP, but I HATE the idea of tasting baby food. We are adults! I like Baby bingo. Just make up blank bingo sheets on papser and have everyone fill in the boxes with what they think she will open. whoever gets their line filled in first receives a little prize.
Or you could just skip the games altogether.
Why not just skip the games?
Ask your sister-in-law what she thinks about games, if she wants them or not. After all, it is her shower and if she wants games then they should happen. (Just as an aside, my SIL who is anti-game refused to do any of them at my shower, despite the fact that my friends and I LOVE them and look forward to them...so the best course is to respect the wishes of the guest of honor) If she doesn't want them then you're off the hook!
Sorry if I'm repeating games that are listed below but you could try the following:
-Buy a bag of clothespins. Everyone gets one. The goal is to not say the word 'baby'. If you catch someone saying 'baby', you get to take their clothespin. The person with the most clothespins at the end of the shower is the winner.
-Remove labels from jars of baby food and play 'guess the baby food'.
-Melt a candy bar into a diaper and play 'guess the candy bar'.
-Create a trivia quiz all about the mother-to-be and the baby.
-(Depending on the audience) Fill baby bottles with beer, juice, or even water. Drop a few drops of food coloring in and do a baby bottle race.
I do like the "guess the baby food game." That's fun. Another one that's cheap and super easy is guessing the measurement around M.-to-be's waist. Everyone writes down a guess on paper, you measure M. in front of everyone and the closest gets a prize. I also like putting together a CD with songs on it with the word Baby being in the title of the song or lyrics. You play the song and everyone has to guess the artist and title - 1 point for each correct answer so each song can get a max of 2 points (1 point for artist, 1 point for song). Person with the most points wins.
