a dear friend of ours has been battling cancer for a very long time shes recentl learned its now in her pancreas and bladder she has an opportunity to participate in a clinical trial and we want to have a fundraiser to help get her there. we need help any advice would be great thanks

Garage sales are big! Ask ppl on Craigslist to donate items that you can sell. You would be surprised at how ppl come through.
So sorry to hear about your friend. You are a sweet, supportive friend for wanting to help! I have a friend that is raising money to walk in breast cancer marathon in October and they have tried many things to raise money. Our local bowling alley let them have a party there and they got to keep a portion of what was spent for bowling. They made it fun with a raffle and contest for best score. She hand-painted wine glasses w/ pink dots and gave them away w/ any $10 or more donation at a church festival and also at a gold party another friend had. She works in a dental office and her dentist raffled off a teeth whitening session when you purchased a raffle ticket. Our kids are going to have a lemonade stand and offer treats for free, but donations welcome. She is also planning an adults only "poker night" where we dress up and "buy in", have food and drink and the proceeds go into her fund. I know she spoke to Tijuana Flats and Chik Fil a and they will sponsor a charity night like they do for the schools, and she will send out an e-vite to everyone telling them date/time to go. Send out a plea on facebook.

How about a fashion show, raffle off a new car...of course, the old tried and true bake sales, car washes, Chili Cook Off? Pig Roast, to mention a few. Sell tickets for a new home decorator to do a room...Hope this helps!!
