Hi J.,
Take a look at www.thecomplimentscard.com. I have had great fundraisers with the compliments card.
Hi there!! I have a 10 year old son who is playing on a Select Baseball team. Because they have to pay for everything on thier own, thier costs this year at $10,500. We are working on raising money, and are going to sale Krispy Kreme certificates and do a yard sale. DOes anyone have any other suggestions that will bring in some good money for the boys? We have had a really hard time finding sponsors, and are getting a little discouraged.
Thank you!!

Who wants to buy more expenive wrapping paper or yucky, overpriced candy in tin cans, right?
You might check into selling something called scrip. When I was in junior and high school (several years ago), this is the fundraiser that my mom helped organize at my schools. What it is is pretty much gift certificates to a LARGE variety of retail stores, grocery stores, etc. Someone can buy a 10.00 scrip to Kroger for 10.00. Or a 100.00 scrip to Old Navy for 100.00. Or 50.00 scrip to Exxon for 50.00 . My point is, the person buying from you gets back what they paid, dollar-for-dollar. Then they can go to the store and use it just like a gift card, and YOU get some percentage of the profit depending on the agreement between the individual stores and the scrip company. Heck, if you were selling Walmart or Target scrip, friends and family would probably buy about $1000.00 each! If they are going to shop there anyway, they might as well help you, too!
I just looked online to see if this sort of thing still exists, and it does! Hopefully, it still works the same way. You can even look online to see the stores that participate. Good luck!
What about entertainment books? There is one called Enjoy the City - the book retails for I think $20. You keep $10. No minimums, no charge for lost books, you could start it next week and run it for 2 weeks or something, books are delivered upfront - so you give the book & get the money. At the end of your time, you simply turn in book you didn't sell & keep your half of the money - easiest fundraiser I've ever done. I've stayed in contact with the local rep, as I intend to do other business with him. He is extremely nice & accommodating. If you're interested, PM me & I'll give you his name & number. - S.

In the summer, car washes are good fundraisers.

With so many women today enjoying freedom and success with home based businesses-why not research one to do a fund raiser for you. It would be a win-win situation-supporting the Select Team and a working mom!
I own my own home based business and have done this for my son's school. Call or email me if I can help in any way!
Good Luck!

Hi J.,
I've been working with a select soccer team raising money for them through The Compliments Card. It's a member benefit card that is good for one year, and you receive discounts at local restaurants, spas, salons, sporting events (i.e., Dallas Stars, Texas Rangers, FCDallas and more). The cards sell for $49.99 and 25% of the proceeds go back to the fundraiser, in your case the baseball team. I'd be happy to talk to you more about it if you're interested. We have over 280 establishments in the Metroplex that honor the card with more being added every week.
I can customize a fundraiser for your team, including prizes for the boys to encourage sales. Usually I give 25% of the sales back. I know you are getting a lot of offers, but if none of them sound right for you, let me know and I'll give you some different & unique options. It's difficult for 10 year old boys to sell something they would never buy for themselves.
Some of the other suggestions like car washes & yard sales are good. Also, you could have an event where friends & neighbors sponsor the kids for something - like giving $1 for every ball they can hit within 2 minutes or $0.50 for every time they can run the bases in 60 seconds. I did something like that in gymnastics (# of cartwheels in 60 seconds) and it was low cost and easy to get sponsors.
You may want to try Pizza Hut or a pizza place. Some restaurants will do special nights for groups. Also, I think Toys R Us sometimes does buying nights (% goes to the group). What about raking leaves or some other chore they can offer to help neighbors with?
J.,
An auction is a great way to raise money for the team, but requires some legwork.
Another idea is to check out this website for the fundraiser that works best for your group.

Pizza comp. fundraisers work well too.
Have a great season.
Hi J.,
My name is L. Mehl. I sell Tupperware. Tupperware has a great fund raiser catalog. The boys would get 40% of all the sales. We can do it many ways. Please e-mail me at ____@____.com. I would love to give you more information. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
J.,
Since it is boys you might not like this idea but I actually do a candle fundraiser and its a great one. we give back 50% of all that you sell. So if your boys sold $4000.00 in candles you get $2000.00 back. It has been a success for everyone that has participated plus they are GREAT candles. Let me know if I can get you more info.

Try Dream dinners in Frisco. They do fundraisers. www.dreamdinners.com
We do fundraising for our daughter (for her illness) and we write letters to family and friends for donations to the Fund that does research for it. We get a pretty good response. That might work for you as well?
