See if you can work out a special give-away with a local business and sell raffle tickets for $1 or $5. We did something like that and made a lot of money. You can ask for a complete baseball equipment set for a kid, maybe. Like baseball bat, glove, batting gloves, helmut, and shoes. The store would probably give you a discount on the complete set and the money you raise will more than pay for it. You can offer three prizes (two lesser items) for better chances to win. I'd suggest a gift card/certificate to the same place or an ice cream place, or tickets to a Cougars game. Kids can sell the tickets all over the place - esp near the store and they will have people lined up to get a chance.
Another thought is imprinted gifts like baseballs - my husband can imprint photos onto balls, plaques, and numerous other items. Send me a message if you want more info on that. Oh, and my husband can print raffle tickets, too. He helped with the similar fund-raiser I mentioned above.
