Getting Ink off of Wood...

baking soda and a little water gets pen off my painted wood, untreated indoor teak wood and low end stained wood (I've never tried on high end pieces)

I used to use hairspray or 409 to get it off our leather couch. WD-40 used to work too. Of course I'm a grandma now, so there is probably something better on the market now. Best of luck!

Try some alcohol. Put a little on a cotton ball and pat the ink with it changing to clean cotton/alcohol when needed until the ink is up.

Here's a trick a friend of mine (formerly a nanny) used to get permanent marker off of wood: get some bug spray with DEET in it, a dry paper towel and a wet paper towel. Spray the stain with the bug spray, then quickly wipe with the dry towel (which should get the ink off), then the wet towel (to remove the bug spray). Maybe it would also work with ink. Good luck.

Have you tried that magic eraser by Mr. Clean? It is a sponge looking thing and it has worked for me. I have used it on my wood floor and pine wood furniture and it has taken crayons, ink and other things off the surface. I love it! It is truly magical. Try a small spot first just like any other chemical you use. I have used it on my bathroom grout and ceramic floor and formica counter tops and it is wonderful. use WD-40 it should take it off and wont harm the wood. If that doesn't get it all out, it depends on how bad the ink is ground into the wood, its just as easy to go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a wood tone pen in the hardwood floor section of the store and use that. My husband has been remodeling houses for 23 years now so i asked him and that's what he said to do. Hope this helps and good luck with your mess lol.

Try in a small area first, but try hairspray and or hand sanitizer.

This got sharpie ink off of my mom's "unsealed, stained" oak cabinets!!!! And did not harm the wood or stain!!!!

The Spray 'N Wash stick spot remover for laundry works miracles for getting ink (not permanent marker, however) off of walls, wood, shoes, laundry, painted surfaces etc! Just rub it on and you will see the ink start to dissolve, and then just wipe it off with a damp cloth. You might have to try it a few times and let it sit for 5 or 10 mins. My daughter got hold of a red ink pen, and since this works so well on removing ink from laundry, I tried it on our painted staircase, wallpaper, light switches and oak dining table - and it worked wonderfully! No more ink! (I think the red ink pen leaked and she had it all over her hands - it was everywhere!! ) Good luck!

You might get some results for lemon juice. I know that it works on fabric do not know about wood but it would not hurt anything to try.good luck

Have you tried using the Magic Eraser? I have yet to find anything it does not get out other than set in stains on carpet.

You might try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

Try Sol-u-Mel by Meleluca. It took out perm. marker off our nice wooden desk, courtesy of my daughter, it didn't harm the wood. I love this product and it's non-toxic, and can be used for many different applications. You can buy this on e-bay if your not a member. I hope this helps.

A Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or the scouring side of a sponge will get the ink off the table but it will also take the finish off the table. I've done it many times on my table to get small marker and pen marks off. It's not too terribly noticeable if it's just small areas and if you scrub gently, but it definitely does take the finish off so be careful if you do choose to go this route.

Ok, I know this sounds wierd, but take a dry erase marker and draw over the pen mark. Then wipe off with a papertowel or baby wipe. It really does work.

if it's finished wood, I would try Magic Eraser (or the Great Value brand at Wal Mart...works just the same!)

I use some awesome stuff that gets just about everything out of anything! Also, it's completely harmless to use in your house.
