Getting Light-headed/dizzy in Third Trimester.

Hello! I am going into my 33rd week of pregnancy and in the last week I've been having moments of getting light-headed or dizzy. I haven't passed out or anything but I thought I was going to today. All my tests at previous doctor's appointments have been normal so I'm just wondering what's going on. I don't remember having this problem with my first pregnancy. At first I thought maybe I was having them from getting too hungry but I'm having them even after I've eaten and I seem to have them the most when I'm sitting down. So I don't know if my big belly is just cutting off my circulation or something like that. I have my regular OB/GYN appointment Tuesday morning but I just thought I might get some advice on here that would make me feel better.

Thanks and God Bless!

What can I do next?

I had that happen to me too. Now I also had PE but this started before PE happened. My doc told me its just my bodies reaction to the major thing that was about to happen. She kept a really close eye on my BP and my Blood Sugers and had me eat smaller meals more often. She also said, "If you get up and you get dizzy, don't get up so fast" lol Like I didn't know that. hehe I hope everything goes well...almost Time! :)

You might be a little anemic. I had the same thing happen when I was pregnant. Try to increase your iron intake in your food choices. Also make sure you are getting plenty of water! Dehydration can cause this also.

Take care and happy holidays!

Hi! I am just about to start my 36th week, and our baby is due in mid-Jan. :-) Congrats to you and your husband! I am having a similar experience, and from what I have read, it is normal. I discussed it with my doctor, and he said to be careful not to stay in the same position for too long, etc. Make sure you are getting enough fluids also since dehydration can be a factor. God bless you and your family!

Depending on your position at the time, the baby could be pushing on your major blood vessels in the abdomen. Laying back was the worst offender for me, and left side was the only way to completely avoid it.

I'm also in my 33rd week and I have had this a little. From what I have read it is normal and expected in your third trimester. You can always call your DR's nurse just to be on the safe side and tell her what is going on.

When are you due? I'm due 2/6, but I am hoping that she will make her appearance early!

Your blood pressure or sugar level could be spiking or dropping rapidly. My blood pressure went up about the last month with my daughter, they put me on bed rest but did not realize that because I had not been instructed to lie on my left side opening up that major artery, the blood pressure was still up the whole time I had been in bed.

If this happens, try lying down on your left side and see if it makes you feel more at equilibrium and do make detailed notes for your doctor's visit.

Go to the doc right away. I had a friend several years ago that ignored those systems and it turned out she had pre-eclampsia. She had to have her baby early. It was very serious. Look up the symptoms online for pre-eclampsia.

Have you checked your blood pressure around these times of wierdness? Could be high, so be sure to describe it well to your doc at the visit. You are the expert on your body & your baby, so if something seems wierd make it known to the doc! High blood pressure put me in the hospital for 2 days at 32 weeks (sounds scarrier than it was), just a precaution as they monitored the baby. It was manageable for me and just meant I got doc visits every week with sonos to monitor the baby. Although scary at the time, it was also amazing! Not too many moms-to-be get to see the growth and change in that last stretch before birth with real live photos every week. It did require some meds for me, but nothing too intense. Good luck!
