Hi L.; Yes, having the coat cleaned by a professional cleaner that is good with leather can remove the smell of cigarettes.
My husband bought a leather coat on Ebay. He did not make sure it was from a smoke free home. It stinks of cigarette smoke. No one in our family smokes, and I am very sensitive to the smell. Is there any way to get it out at home? Can professional cleaners do it?

Professional leather cleaning is VERY expensive...I'd hang it outside and let it REALLY air out for a few days. Or maybe in a cool garage?
if all else fails, see if you can return the item to the seller on ebay...
my local dry cleaner does leather cleaning also. check with your local ones. i also would contact the seller on eBay to see what their return policy is. if you're not happy with the purchase, you should be able to return it if the seller is not a pain in the butt :)

A lot of the dry cleaners in my area advertise that they clean leather. I'd check your area cleaners and see what they say.
Good luck, I hate the smell of cigarettes too...
Do you think spraying the inside with Fabreeze would help?? That stuff works really well, I would be careful and not spray it on the actual leather.
