So I have this one teacher that I just love. She is actually my program administrator as well as teacher. I graduated last week and I want to get her a gift. Well the thing is i have NO money. Literally NO money. I get child support and that is it at the moment till I can get a job (I have been trying so hard to get one) What that is LOW budget can I do for her? I want something special and from the heart. She has done a lot for me.

What can I do next?

A letter of sincere thanks is something she'll keep and remember forever. That's a real "heart gift."

Chocolate chip cookies to go with the letter? Always a good idea.

I would just get her a card and spill your heart out in it for how much she has meant to you. I think she will cherish that so much more than any expensive gift you could ever buy. By doing this you validate her hard work and the connection she has made with you. She will take those heartfelt words and continue to touch the lives of other students that come to her for guidance in the future. Congrats on your graduation!
Sincerely,
A. (former teacher)

I love the idea of baking something for her and writing out a nice note telling her what a very real difference she has made in your life. Any teacher would LOVE that!

How about just a sincere letter of thanks and maybe a small bouquet of flowers or a nice plant?

I say do a combo of the ideas already suggested... definitely a card that expresses how you feel, given with either a plant or baked goods!

Write her a heartfelt letter.

And once you get a great job (thanks to her help in your education), maybe you can send her something nice, or take her to a fabulous dinner.

A gift in a jar. Can be a food item, or I love the hand soaps and creams kind of stuff. Just google if, and tons of stuff will come up. If not, I can send you some links. There's a really yummy one I plan on using this Christmas that uses brown sugar and cinnamon, but it's really moisturizing for the hands. You should be able to find a pretty jar to put it in for between 50c and $4 at a Goodwill or similar store. Have fun!

I love the letter Idea, but here's a cute little thing you can do on top of it... I got this idea from www.pinterest.com ... If you haven't heard of it, I LOVE that site! It has TONS of great ideas for gifts you can do that are cheap, but meaningful!
Anyway, here it is... With a decorated jar of M&M's have the note:
"Green is for the inspiration you give me each day. Blue is for your patience in showing me the way. Orange is for your warmth and caring style. Yellow is for the way you always make me smile. Red is for my life that you have touched this year. You place knowledge in my hands, that melt into my heart and live forever! You're a "Magnificent" & "Marvelous" Teacher! Thank you for being my M&M!"
(I guess the idea came from deckthehalls-christmas.blogspot.com so hopefully you can go there to find the picture of how CUTE this is!)

... Just found at the right side there is a link for Teacher Appreciation... Here's a direct link to the M&M one...
http://deckthehalls-christmas.blogspot.com/2011/04/my-mag... ) LOTS of cute ideas though!!

A poem you write about her

A letter stating your sentiments about what she meant to you.

A small, inexpensive bouquet of flowers from the grocery store.

A small framed picture of you. On the back tape small note of thanks you
write yourself about how much she meant to you.

As a teacher, I can say the best gift is always a note/letter stating how much of an impact the teacher has had on you. It's heart-felt, and keeps. A wallet picture of you and your kiddos is special too. Don't feel obligated to spend money (especially when you don't have it). I'm glad you had such an amazing teacher!
