Hi Mommas,
Going to a birthday party this weekend for twins that are turning 4 (one girl, one boy). Usually, I'm pretty good with ideas but this one has me stumped. They have two older siblings and therefore have tons of toys and books. I was thinking about passes to the zoo but I also think they're already members. They just "graduated" from 3's program at the nursery school my son goes to and the school gave them a pail and shovel filled with stuff for summer (bubbles, beach ball, etc) so that idea is out. So what do you think? Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for the great ideas. I went with the summer theme (slip and slide) and the reusable stuff (sidewalk chalk) also got them each a pair of goggles, water balloons, etc. Gift receipts are in the cards! :o) Thanks for the ideas.

Maybe a great kids sprinkler for the summer would be a fun gift. We had several different ones when I was kid and we loved them all. Maybe a slip-n-slide. Something that they can play with throughout the summer that's a bigger item than they got from the school. Make it a joint gift.

With the party being this weekend are there any other kid places in your area; like a children's museum, discovery museum, public museum or indoor play ground? Maybe a pass or gift card to a place like that, depending on which one you pick you then can get a little toy or coloring book that is related to that theme/place.

We have a zoo membership but my soon to be 4 year old would love a gift card that she could use in the zoo gift shop. With a membership I rarely if never buy anything from the gift shop but there are so many cool items in a zoo gift shop for a child.

Expand on that summer theme...How about Monogram beach towels with their first initial of their name or last name? Include a small GC from Coldstone or Dairy Queen etc.

Can you ask their mom what they are into? If you buy them something then please give a gift receipt. My twins get so much and alot of times they get doubles without a gift receipt. Then it's like not getting a gift. We donate it to charity , a great learning experience but not always fun :) My son is also 4 and now into legos. They have some from 4 or 5 and up that he can do. They can always use playdoh . Maybe movie passes because Toy Story 3 is coming soon. My daughter wants the Jessie costume and I bet they would love something like that from the Disney Store. Good luck!

A gift card to something fun in the area - movies, arcade, kiddie play place, is fun and clutter free. I also love book store gift cards. I also think you can never have enough art/craft supplies when your kids are young, you could get a big bucket of craft stuff.
Good luck! Gift receipts are a good idea.

how about hooded summer beach towels - we always need these at our house b/c even if they already have 1 set, you always need a backup if they are in the wash.
You could also look into outdoor things like a small table/chair set - they have a toy story themed one at toys r us.
