A massage! Some even come to your home!
I have a friend that just had her second baby (first was a boy, second is a girl). I already gave her a little blanket, but wanted to get her something else. I'm pretty practical and wanted to give her something like dinner delivered to her house for a while or a gift certificate to peapod. I’m trying to steer away from clothes, etc.
Any brilliant ideas from 2nd time mothers on things they wish people would have given them? What did you find you couldn’t live without? Any ideas are appreciated.

I'd say cleaning service too. But I usually give meals since I can just do it myself. Good luck, I'm sure whatever you decide will be appreciated!
I have given, on many occasions, a gift certificate for house cleaning - something that rarely gets done when the new baby comes!! I also give this when some one is sick or has been hospitalized. You can get Mary Maids or another company to just come in and do a complete cleaning. Mary Maids is fairly expensive. If I were you, I would try to find a local person who cleans homes, and ask if you could get a GC from them, or just schedule a cleaning for your friend and pay for it. In my opinion - a great gift!!! Hope this helps!!!
I am only a first time mother but I can say some of the greatest things people brought me were diapers and wipes and food. Several friends of mine brought frozen things that I could just pull out of the freezer and pop in the oven and done.
My first idea would be try my website www.thebodyshopathome.com/web/faithjones
Lots of great pamper products and basics like shampoo shower gel etc. We have some product designed for "after baby" body that really help to firm and tone!!

I am sure no matter what you choose she will love and its very thoguhtful of you to want to get something practical and useful!!
Merry Maids does have gift cards. I got some for Christmas from my mother-in-law and was so grateful!
You could also go to Dinners By Design, have a group of girlfriends pitch in with you, make up a bunch of dinners and then take them to her so she doesn't have to cook! If you don't want to assemble them yourself, you can call ahead and have them do it - then you go pick them up and deliver them to her.
