Gift Ideas for Wonderful OB & His Staff

I gave birth one week ago tomorrow and have had the best OB. My husband & I absolutely love him and his entire staff. We'd love to do something for them but have no idea what. A gift basket? If so what kind. I've received and given wine baskets but I'm afraid that won't go very far for the entire staff. Any ideas???

What can I do next?

G.,
In the past I've gone through Jason's Deli and had a sweet tray (pastries and bread) and fruit tray sent over to my Dr's office. They were very grateful and there was more than enough for everyone.

I don't know what people do there, but I'm from Kansas and moved here from California and a lot of people that I've seen have sent a plant to the office. It lasts long and not only does the OB and his Staff get to enjoy it, but it spruces up the office and patients can enjoy it too

Dear G.,

Congratulations on your new baby girl!!! We hope that she comes home soon to play with her big brother.

I'm a bit unsettled by a response that you received about "not enough people think about what we do..." As I disagree with that statement as I think we all appreciate what people do for us and our kids, hence our return to the office, referrals to the office, paying our bills and loyalty to the practice.

That said, I think it is awesome that you want to go the extra bit to acknowledge the "heros" who helped bring your daughter into the world. Being in office environments in the past, I know that food always goes over well. I have said in other posts that so much as a thank you note goes a long way, too!

I have wondered the same thing about my OB Staff. I have thought about doing an edible bouquet, where there are flower cookies on a stick, or you could do cookies like rattles or other baby related things.

First off, I want to tell you how nice it is that you are thinking of your doctors office. I work in a pediatricians office with 6 doctors, and have to say that only maybe 3 parents surprise us with cookies, treats etc... for our services. Not enough people think about all that we do and the overtime we put in for their children. We work holidays and weekends year round.
And to be honest with you, I probably would not think about doing that if I did not work where I do.
Anyway, in the past we have been given homemade brownies (cheaper than catered), Fruit bouquets or tray, cookie bouquets (expensive), candy, cookies etc... I have to say though, even though the fruit is expensive, it seems to be the biggest hit at our office.
Hope this helps you out!

Hello G.,

Congrats on your new addition. The cookie bouquets are nice or the fruit ones are good as well.
