Update I just read this. It talks about this exact subject.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28162413/

I helped the teachers at my daughter's elementary school start an annual Garage Sale to benefit their on campus Daycare. I learned a deep dark secret.

We had to set up 4- 8ft tables to hold all of the Bath Goodies (soaps, candles, loofas, bath salts, potpourri etc), Mugs, picture frames, photo albums and "Apple" or "School themed" items that the teachers had to sell. Some of the teachers had to be persuaded to fess up and bring in all of their unused gifts. Some of the teachers stated that they are actually allergic or get headaches from highly scented items.

This is when I realized, there are only so much of these items any one person can use.

I asked them what were some of their favorite gifts. Many of them honestly said a card with a note from the parents or child was enough to make them happy. I told them parents and students love to reward them, what other types of gifts would they love to receive. Many of them said Gift Certificates, to restaurants, movies, plays, book stores, the mall.

Many of them said a homemade meal or dessert. They loved plants, magazine subscriptions, Video rental gift cards.

I vowed that day to give things that did not take up space. I try to give them things that allow the teachers to pick out as a treat for themselves.

Hi!
I found these cute mugs (3 pack) at Costco that are filled with coco and different goodies. One for my daycare, one for my daughters teacher, one for after school care. I will also get them a gift card to Z Tejas grill.
Good luck on your search for appropriate gifts!

I was a daycare teacher. I'm not sure how many teachers you have to buy for, but I do agree that bath products are always nice. Especially nice hand lotions since they tend to wash their hands a lot! Wal-mart has some nice ones at a nice price too!

If thats out of budget, the next favorite thing is FOOD! Cupcakes, cookies or any homemade goody was greatly appreciated!! I burned a lot of calories as a daycare teacher running around after little ones, and we love when parents would bring us goodies!

Maybe you can get a few bath products for your sons specific teachers and make goodies for everyone else!

Candles are always nice. Or you can do a spa basket. Get some bath beads, salts, lotion and candles. Arrange them in a pretty basket, get some ribbon, and viola easy xmas gift.

I asked my mom (who has been teaching for 35 years) what gifts she likes the best. She said things that she can use to pamper herself are always good (soaps and bath salts, gift cert to massage, chocolate, etc.)

Hi B.,

I have so many different items that would be great for any of the teachers, aides or your family and friends. I personally like to give things that people will use everyday. Gift Cards are ok but I personally tend to buy other folks gifts or my kids with them. I have bodywash/hydrating lotions that come together as a pair, lipglosses are always fun, Satin Lips Set to make their lips feel silky smooth, Satin Hands Set since they work with their hands treat them to Satin Hands at the end of their day. It truly makes your hands silky soft. I can also give you a Gift Certificate of $25 (free) to add to their gift for future items they might like to have. All of these will come in their own gift bags w/tissue. I will also offer you free delivery to your (door if you are closeby) or free shipping when your order is over $25. I can also offer you 25% off your purchases before taxes. Naturally you need to add the tax after for the grand total. Check out my web:
