I'm planning a Girls' Night Out activity for a group of 30 something year old moms....any suggestions/fun classes (i.e., jewelry making, wine tasting, etc.)?

What can I do next?

A really awesome place to have a girls night out-and it is right by the wine bar that the previous woman recommended to you, which by the way I believe is called trilogy. Good luck!

Hi S.,

Whenever our moms' group does a night out, we always end up chatting the night away (trying to avoid kid-talk!). It's great to have adult conversations without kids interrupting. So wherever you go, be sure the noise level is conducive to conversation and the activity isn't too complicated. If everyone wants to do an activity, maybe go somewhere to relax afterward. We've also done at-home parties where we just play cards (ok, we mostly just talk) and everyone brings an appetizer to share; or a wine-tasting where everyone brings their favorite bottle.

Have fun! You all deserve it :)

If you live in the San Antonio area, you should all go to Coco Chocolate Lounge & Bistro. It's located at 18402 U.S. 281 N. (just north of Loop 1604). If you love chocolate (and what woman doesn't), you'll LOVE this place. They cater to women. Check out the info here:

I am not 30 but my daughters are and when they plan most of their girls night outs they are always so kind to invite me to come along. The last two they did were: we went to a wine tasting at this wonderful wine shop in San Antonio off Stone Oak Parkway. Sorry I don't remember the name of the store but it is in a strip center just before you get to Huebner and the owner was wonderful as well as his wines. We had such a great time and afterwards we all went to dinner and sat there forever just enjoying each others company, catching up etc. The other time we rented a limo and went downtown San Antonio for dinner and then had the limo driver takes us all over the city. It was close to Christmas time and seeing all the lights and sounds were so nice. He picked us all up at a club where we all met for drinks, took us to dinner and then took us around town bringing all of us back to the club where are cars were. We laughed and just had a great time. Sometimes the girls get together and have a Bunco party which is always fun with good food and good drinks. My daughter's husband leaves the house with all the kids (usually goes to his mother's house where the kids spend the night) and he will go off to a movie or something that he wants to do. He will call around 10:30 or 11:00 to see if it is safe to come home and if so he will come home, go upstairs and let the girls continue with their party.

These are just a couple of suggestions that I know we all had a great time doing. Good Luck on your planning and make sure you don't make it to hard on yourself. Just plan it to be simply where you don't have to do a lot of work and have fun.

A great girl's night out is to do a shopping party. Your friends get to do some shopping and you can earn free and 1/2 off items. I represent a company; Taste of Home Entertaining, and I would love to do a wine themed party for you in your home so that you can be relaxed and comfortable. Some mamas feel that the family is a unit and Girls Night Out is rude if the husband and kids can't go. Stupid huh? Yep, I agree.
