M.H.
I had my little boy @ EIRMC about 6 yrs. ago. He was a planned C-section, so didn't experience the "regular" labor/delivery aspect. My nurse was good about bringing me my pain pills and answering my questions! :) The nursery was very accommodating - each night they asked if he was staying w/ me or them - including a "change my mind in the middle of the night" option. We kept him w/ me the whole time, hubby or I accompanied him to the nursery during "baby round-up" (weight check, shot, hearing check, etc) - seems like that was a morning & evening thing. They were also in to check on him a few times during the day. I felt supported w/ breast-feeding. (no problems, so didn't meet the lac. consultant) My hubby slept @ home - to be w/ big sis.... seems like the visitor chair was comfy during the day....
I brought my own fleece blanket, onesies & sleepers (but they also had all those) - they had diapers, wipes, etc on the nursery cart. We did have our blanket get mixed in with their's, but they were very good about finding it for me! Didn't use a paci, so don't remember...
Also got a diaper bag w/ formula & info, etc. - 1 from hospital, 1 from pediatrician.
My experience there was positive. I'd recommend touring the facility & be sure to ask any questions you have while you're there and get a contact name/number you can call back - I always have more questions the next day!
Hope this helps & good luck!
