i am going back to school in January. I am a single mom of 3 with student loans already. My financial aid forms say I get 5500 in grants, but I want to know if its possible to get scholorship money to help cover other expenses. I dont want to take out loans, I have enough of them for a degree I cant use in the area(I have to be here so my parents can help with my kids). I just want to know if anyone knows of any good websites or things I can do to get some more money. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Talk to the financial aid office at the school you are going to attend. They should have a list of different scholarships. I would also check with your employer, any community groups you or your family belongs to or possibly your church. Also- their are sometimes scholarships for people going into certain careers (ie teacher, public service, etc). You could probably google your career and scholarships and come up with some results. But I would start with the school.
Good luck and kudos to you for going back to school.

Talk to your school's financial aid office. My daughter found some scholarships from local organizations like Zonta (a prof. women's group) for single moms. Sometimes the local papers list scholarships too.

When you filled out your FASFA, it will tell you any scholarships through the federal or state government you will qualify for; you could also check with the school you're re-enrolling it. Good luck!
