Looking for any feedback/recommendations on cloth diapers/services in the miami area. We are not doing the disposable diaper thing and would like to support our local business. Any suggestions for organic/cloth diapers? So far the g diapers are looking like a good pick but we still want to use cloth diapers as well . Help!! I have to register this week , only 9 weeks til my due date!!!
Many thanks!!

What can I do next?

Hi K.
My name is Z. and I have a 4 1/2 year old. Although at the time when my son was born I went the natural (no gles or toxic stuff) yet disposable route -
When I was expecting my son I looked into a few options with cloth diapers and here is what I found:
1. http://www.mother-ease.com/?src=overture
2. http://www.thebabylane.com/ (check out Kushies on this site, these seemed pretty good and practical too)
3. http://www.greenbabysource.com/ (if you really want to go all green this was a good source and vendor)
4. http://www.softclothbunz.com/
5. http://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/diapers.htm (these are also organic made)

Most of the diapers are washable at home which saves on the service and you can use safer (greener) detergents to wash as well.
I happen to shop from a company that makes safer cleaning products and home products and they make a fantastic bio-degradable detergent that doesn't have any harsh chemicals in it. If you want to know more about it feel free to email me or call me.
Again my name is Z. and my number is ###-###-#### or ###-###-####.
Good luck in your search and hope you find the best diapers for your new baby - and congratulations!!!
Z.

I was looking into cloth diapers for my now 10 month old but it was a no go since we do not have a washer/dryer @ home..

Here are some of the link i have saved on cloth diapering.

http://www.thediaperhyena.com/index.php <--Cloth Diapering Resources

http://www.fuzzibunz.com/ <--Pocket diapers

http://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/allinone.htm <--All in one

http://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/diapers.htm <-- prefold diapers

http://www.thanksmama.com/Fitted_Diapers_s/23.htm <-- fitted diapers

I do not know anything about a diaper service since my main goal for using cloth was to save on money.

I cloth diaper my 16 month old since he was born. He also started daycare when he was 2 months old and we used them there too because I found the laws before informing them. I don't use a diaper service, I do my own diaper laundry even though we don't have a washer and dryer in the apt. I love cd and wished I would have known w/ my oldest.

I tried gdiapers but I didn't like them at all.
I use bumgenius AIO, lots of fitteds w/ Thirsties covers, prefolds too.

I try to support lots of wahm from www.hyenacart.com
I buy my Peewells, goodmamas, clothmos, and more there.

You can also check out www.diaperswappers.com for more info on cd. My screen name there is Y. too.

Oh and I almost forgot, I also use cloth wipes that I make myself.

........CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! ...all moms should think like you...
I have two girls (4 and 2) and had cloth diapers for them until they started daycare... (at about 7months old) They do not allow cloth diapers, therefore, I was "forced" to buy the disposable ones...
There are tons of fabrics to use for the diapers... your best bet is to google "how to make cloth diapers" and will give you websites with the patterns to make them ...EASY!!!! or just simply go to EBAY... you will finds hundreds of "like new" used diapers... check it out... I bought them there and sold them there too... oh! and I don't have a washer machine at home, I used my hands, vinegar and baking soda to keep them sparkling clean!!!!!!! good luck!!!
Liz
