The Twilight books-- entire series-- you will NOT be able to put them down, they're addictive!!! You will LOVE them!
I have now started 2 long books that I loved until about halfway through and then was totally turned off by. I am headed to the beach next week and need a couple of good, uplifting, not too heavy books to take along. I am not a fan of science fiction. Any suggestions?

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.
This is so not what you are looking for I know but....The Twilight Series so great....I couldn't put it down.
The Twilight books!!!
Hi K.,
I read "Same Kind of Different as Me" and it was awesome. So many of my friends read it and loved it, too. It's easy reading....I highly recommend it. Have fun at the beach....it's always good to get away for a while!
I wholeheartedly second the recommendation for Francine Rivers’ Redeeming Love. Any of her stand-alone novels would be great for the beach. You can read about them at http://www.francinerivers.com/books.asp. Enjoy!
All the books by Sophia Kinsella are great! They aren't heavy and are a fast read. Perfect for the beach! There is the Shopaholic series, Remember Me, and The Undomestic Goddess.
If you like romance novels - Nora Roberts - I like her newer stuff a bit more than her older stuff. She does straight romance, mystery romance, etc.
Don't know if you count fantasy under the same heading as science fiction - if not, Mercedes Lacky is very enjoyable. She tends to write in 3 book series, but most are paperback at this point.
Hit the library or Half-Price-Books if you want to buy them. Enjoy!
Love Jennifer Weiner; her Jemima J is my favorite.

I could go on and on, but I'll refrain (massive effort!).
