I have been trying (with no luck) to find a good paper-based noteboard for the fridge.
This would be one that you could hang on the lip of the fridge door (without blocking the closing of the door).
I have a fridge with regular horizontal doors (not two long, tall doors that split the fridge).
If anyone has any suggestions, or an alternative, they would be welcome.

Go to a home improvement store.
Get some heavy duty magnets.
Get a "noteboard" type thing, white board, or dry erase board, or note-pad, that fits your fridge door, and then, glue on the magnets to the back of the board and then just stick it to your fridge door. And because it is using magnets, it is removable and can be placed anywhere.
I'm not sure what you mean. A magnetic tablet? A whiteboard? can't you please be more descriptive of what you're seeking?
I've never seen anything like you describe. I've always used paper note pads that attach with a magnet. Do magnets not work on your fridge?
You could try looking on the Internet. I've found all sorts of things when I googled calendars. Also try office supplies on computer.
You can buy strips of magnets at the store. At least Walmart and Hobby Lobby have them. You cut them the length you need then peel the back off so it sticks to what you want to hang.
I use them for crafts and all sorts of stuff.
