I also live in Burbank and i know that it makes it really easy to have your doctor near by.
I have selected Dr. Najwa Shammas as my 5 month old daughters doctor. She is super sweet
and so is her staff. I don't have much of a wait, usually 15 to 30 minutes... i think it depends of the flu/cold season because before the season i only waited 10 minutes. I also like her because if i feel there is a problem with my daughter they usually can see her that same day.
I don't know how open minded she is but you can ask.

I am not in Burbank, but Glendale Pediatrics is fantastic, especially Dr. James Henry or Dr. Bradley Bursch. We see both of them for my 2 kids, ages 4 years, and 11 weeks. I highly remommend them, especially considering this is our second pediatrition office. They are thorough, and take the time to answer all your questions. Also, they are wonderful with the kids. My son loves going there because the doctors are funny and have a great sense of humor. In addition, they came highly reccommended to me by several sources...friends who go there, and to pharmicists that I know. I hope this helps.

I just wanted to say that I am SO proud of you for standing up to your current pediatrician about the MMR. I wasn't as strong as you, and I went ahead with the vaccine...my son was diagnosed with Autism a few months later (no signs of this disorder before the vaccine). Our current pediatrician is great, but she's all the way in Alhambra.

Our Doctor is in Encino, but we love her. Dr. Mann. I didn't even know about splitting up vaccines, so we never asked her. BUT I have to say GOOD FOR YOU for getting out of Pediatric Associates. We started out there on a reco from my OB/GYN and it was HORRIBLE. Dr. "G" (name deleted to protect the rude) was alway talking down to us, was brusk, and not particularly open to anything (like when I asked him about homeopathics for instance). The office staff was surly and the whole place looked tired and worn and dingy. The last straw was when he was pushing the rotavirus vaccine and when I expressed concerns about it being new and how do we know it won't cause harm down the road all he said was "I don't know about that, all I know is it keeps babies out of hospitals". As a new mom I certainly didn't want my baby in a hospital, so I felt bullied into the shot. She only got one and then we switched peds. Her new one said she didn't really recommend or not recommend it, but would do what we wanted...ahhh...now, mommy and baby are very happy!

Hi S.. We use Dr. Marcia Gerro. You might find her in your insurance information under Dr. Marcia Hatem-Gerro. I dont know any information on whether or not she'll split the vacs, but so far I think she's great! My daughter is almost four and she's with Dr. Gerro since birth. We never have to wait and I have always been able to get an appointment the same day that I call (I work so that's very important to me). Dr. Marcia Gerro. I took my daughter to her for years on the recommendation of a friend. She is patient, thoughtful, and open minded. I often prefer homeopathics which she does not prescribe, but when I would talk about those options with her she would always speak honestly and leave the decisions up to me. In my book she is the kind of doctor all doctors should model themselves after.

Not sure about splitting the vaccines, but I do love Dr. Frend at Burbank Pediatrics (there's actually 3 doctors in the practice) on Hollywood Way near Burbank Bl.

Glendale is pretty close so I'm putting a plug in for Glendale Pediatrics. You'll have to call re the MMR split but it's a fantastic office with a great vibe. And they have a sick waiting room area so that your child isn't exposed. ###-###-####

My daughter has Cerebral Palsy and I changed pediatricians 3 times. I LOVE HER DOCTOR NOW! She is in Burbank, her name is Dr. Susan Hammar on Magnolia Blvd in Burbank, between Buena Vista & Keystone. She totally understands the worry about vaccines and will work with you on what shots you want and what shots you don't want. Hi S.. Like Tiffany, I also recommend Dr. Susan Hammar. My son is only 4 months old, so we're not up to the MMR shot yet, but when I went for his 3 month visit, Dr. Hammar sat with me for A WHILE to explain each of the vaccines in detail. I chose to give him all of them, but had I not, I truly think she would have respected my choice. She was also willing to give them separately, so I'm sure she would do the same for the MMR. She is very no-nonsense and I wasn't sure if I would like her at first, but it turns out that I really do! Good luck!

Hi! I have a great pediatrician in Burbank! In fact we moved to La Canada and I still go to Burbank to see her!Dr. Marsha Gerro ###-###-####!Dr. Gerro's office has received best pediatrician for almost 5 years in Burbank! And she is open to my concerns and does not make you feel rushed!

I recommend Sheldon Kishineff on Riverside & Cahuenga. He was my husband's pediatrician when he was little and he has been our kids' pediatrician for 6 years. His staff is great, they're flexible if you need to come in right away and he is always willing to listen to your concerns and proceed how you feel most comfortable, even if it's not his personal preferred method.
