Well I make sheppards pie and my hubby loves it and he will even eat left overs and he usually doesnt do that at all....ok
so take a pound of ground beef and cook it up and drain it.
Take instant mashed potatos and make them as the recipe on the box says.....preheat the oven to 375, put the meat in the bottom of the dish and then take a can of cream corn and place it on top of the meat, if its regular corn just drain the corn and then place ontop of the meat and then take the mashed potatos and put on top...I usually make more potato then called for so it covers suffecently...take some butter and place it on top and place the casserole dish in the oven for 20-25 min till the potatos are a golden brown...oh and you dont have to use corn as the veggie you can use peas or whatever you want........
really yummy
cut up chicken breast, throw in pan with butter, and what ever seasons you want. boil some rigatone or any pasta in the pantry. can of progresso tomatoes (big) banana peppers, red peppers, spinach, capers, whatever you have in the fridge. now throw it all in with the chicken, the pasta too! add 2 or 3 boxes of athenos feta, melt! serve and top with parm cheese. EVERYONE loves this, and it takes like 15 minutes and looks awesome
Hi....
I found myself in the same rut of trying to fix something that the entire family enjoyed. There's a particular recipe that everyone likes at our house. Cavatini: 1 lb sausage, 1/2 lb pepperoni, Italian seasoning, 1 (4 oz)can mushrooms, 1 large jar Ragu sauce, 1 pkg Mozzarella cheese, 1 1/2 cup each of Mostaccioli noodles, shell macaroni, and curly noodles, 1 small onion, chopped.
Brown sausage and pepperoni with one small chopped onion. Drain. Season with Italian seasoning. Add Ragu sauce and mushrooms. Simmer on stove for 15-20 minutes. Cook pasta and drain. Mix altogether and pur into large baking dish. Sprinkle top with mozzarella cheese. Bake in oven at 350 degrees until cheese melts (approx. 10-15 minutes).
There's two websites that I like www.allrecipes.com and www.campbells.com when I'm in a rut and are simple recipes.
I hope this helps.
Hey S.,
I recently came across an excellent recipe that takes no time at all when I hosted a pampered chef party. It is called a taco ring. Take two packages of croissants and open them up so that you have your triangles. Arrange your triangles in a circle so that it looks like a sun with a hole in the middle. Take a rolling pin or something similar and flatten it out. Take some ground beef(about 1 1/4 lbs) and brown it in a pan, drain, and add a package of taco seasoning. Don't add water to it. Then take the ground beef and arrange it around the edge of your circle(the straight end towards the center). Take then tips of the croissants and pull it over the top of the meat and tuck it under the center(it's okay for there to be gaps between each section). Takes some cheddar cheese (pre-shredded or you can shred it yourself) and sprinkle it on top. Then bake it at 375 degrees for about 15-20 minutes. Until golden brown. Then cut it into slices like you would a pizza. If you want to you can take a bell pepper, cut the top off, gut it and put salsa into it like a bowl you can. Also you can take shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and sliced black olives and sprinkle that on top of your ring. It is so good and so easy!!! My husband loves it!
Ingredients:
11/4lb ground beef
two packages of regular croissants
shredded cheddar cheese
one package taco seasoning
shredded lettuce-optional
med bell pepper-optional
salsa (your spicyness)-optional
diced tomatoes-optional
sliced black olives-optional
sour cream-optional

This one is actually a low fat recipe from weight watchers, but it is sooo good, like chili.
mix in a pot and heat:
cooked hamburger meat (pound or so, drained)
one packet of powder ranch dressing mix
one pouch taco seasoning mix
can of corn
can of black beans
can of pinto beans
can stewed tomatoes
(do not drain any of the cans, the liquid is good, dump it all in the pot and heat and serve! Wha-la! yummy food and usually leftovers for lunch. you can freeze it for later too.
I often make baked chicken too easily:
heat oven 375, mix one can of cream of chicken OR cream of mushroom and a splash of milk, and two of those already cooked uncle ben's rice pouches (i get the wild rice), sometimes i add a can of mushrooms too, i like mushrooms. Set your chicken cutlets on the baking pan, cover with your rice mixture and cook for like 45-a hour. Baked chicken in rice-so good.
Ingredients:
2 cups White Lily Self-Rising Soft Wheat Flour
1/4 cup vegetable shortening
2/3 to 3/4 cup milk
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Place flour in mixing bowl. With pastry blender or fork, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Blend in just enough milk with fork until dough leaves sides of bowl. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead gently 10 to 12 strokes. Roll out dough 1/2-inch thick. Cut with 2-inch biscuit cutter dipping cutter into flour between cuts. Press cutter straight down without twisting for straight-sided, evenly shaped biscuits. Place biscuits on ungreased baking sheet 1 inch apart for crusty biscuits or with sides almost touching for soft-sided biscuits. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 12 biscuits.
Homemade biscuits are always great. These are easy and quick to make. My family loves them.
Cheeseburger Casserole is great. Just put 1 bag of Tator tots in the oven while they are cooking, brown one pound of hamburger meat. when its done add in 1can cream of chicken and 1 can cream of mushroom. Warm them on the stove for about 5 minutes. When the tator tots are done pour the mixture over them and smother it in cheese. Put in the oven till the cheese melts and serve. Its great and simple.Hope you enjoy
Hello S.!!
I am a mom of a 5 yr old girl & 2 yr old Boy, and a Pampered Chef Consultant! I have TONS of recipes that are quick, unique and YUMMY - but always looking for more and also love allrecipes.com!!!! Our current family favorite has actually been a salad, and yes, even my 2 year old son eats it!!! Here it is: I hope your family likes it too:
Harvest Chicken Salad
romaine lettuce or baby spinach leaves
1 c celery
2 red delicious apples - sliced
1/2 c red onion - minced/diced
1 sm orange sections (or a can of manderine oranges)
3/4 c sweetend cranberries
1/2 pecan halves
2 cups roasted chicken (A ROTISSERI CHICKEN SAVES LOTS OF TIME!!)
Dressing for salad:
1/3 c lt mayo
2 tbs stone ground mustard (I prefer prepared brown mustard - it's not as spicy!!)
2 tsp sugar (or splenda!)
1/4 tsp each salt & pepper
1 clove garlic
Mix all these things for the dressing together then slowly add to it 1/2 cup fresh squeezed orange juice while continuously whisking.
Toss dressing into salad and serve immediately!!
Another quick favorite that has a ton of varieties is what my husband calls a "Glorified Grilled Cheese"! or in Pampered Chef terms... a Panini!!
I love making these by using what's in my fridge or pantry - or using leftovers too!!
Use cooked chicken and sauted mushrooms w/ parmesan & provolone cheese on between 2 slices of Italian bread and pan grill.
Or spread left over spaghetti sauce with Mozzerella cheese and pepperoni or even cut up leftover kilbasa sausages on a wheat bread. YUMMY!!! It's making me hungery!!!
Get creative, the kitchen should be fun!! I try to make it fun by throwing stuff together to see how it turns out - kinda like a science experiment. If my family doesn't like it, I know there is always a box of mac & cheese & hot dogs to fall back on!! Good luck and have fun!!

PS. you can visit my website for a new recipe each month at www.pamperedchef.biz/aprilstevens
My favorite is chicken enchiladas. Take frozen chicken breasts toss em in boiling water. When they are done either tear or cut them up (this is the main part of the work). mix in either green enchilada sauce or Progresso Chicken Cheese enchilada soup in with the chicken. Fold it into corn tortillas, with a little cheese. Top with some more sauce and bake for 10-15 min on 350. Total prep time is about 10-15 min depending on how much you have to cut up. It tastes really good and if you use the progresso soup, its also pretty low carb and great for diabetics (me).
ALSO-
I take frozen chicken breasts- top them with Classico sun dried tomato alfredo sauce...bake on 350 for 40 min...in the last 5min put a slice of provolone cheese on top. Make noodles withth erest of the sauce. Toss in veggies. Prep time 5 min & my family loves it.
mashed potatoes, and grill cheese is a family favorite when we dont feel like making a big deal.
Try going to Campbells soups web sites I LOVE THOSE RECIPES!! They are life savers and all you need is some meat and a can of soup! Wonderful!!
I have a hashbrown casserole recipe that has earned rave reviews everywhere I take it from Church Potlucks & to work dinners. It can be a breakfast dish or a main dish.
Large pkg of Tater Tots
1 stick of margerine (melted)
1 jar of Classico Sun-dried Tomato Sauce
1 16oz container of Sour Cream
1/2 cup of an onion chopped
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
2 Cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese
In large bowl melt margerine, added Sauce, Sour Cream, onion, Salt & pepper, mix well with wire wisk/mixing spoon, add cheese, stir until mixed, added Tater Tots, stir until all ingredients are mixed together. Put in a rectangular baking dish and put in the oven at 350F and bank for approx 45 min- 1 hr or until bubbling and browning on top. Serve hot.
We recently bought "Cooking Light's Superfast Suppers" and it is wonderful! There are many receipes that we all love.
My husband even enjoys cooking from this book. It certainly comes is handy for me, a working mom with a three year-old!
I am very new to cooking myself, but since I have decided to stay home with my baby, I have begun experimenting. One recipe I find particularly easy is Baked chicken and salsa. I just put chicken breasts in a baking dish, pour salsa on top, and bake for about 20 minutes. Then I put shredded cheese on top and bake for about 5 more minutes. Another chicken recipe i have tried is again, with chicken in a baking dish, topped with spinach, and a mixture of ricotta, parmesan, mozzarella and cream cheeses. Bake for about 30 minutes, depending on the size of your chicken breasts. These are both low carb, as my husband and I were both on the South Beach diet, but i suppose you could make some rice or pasta on the side. I know these aren't very complex, but I think they both might be kid-friendly!!
Hello S.
I just came up with this recipe the other night and my children loved it. You use pack of SKINLESS chicken legs, one cup Kraft fat-free Italian dressing, 4 cloves of minced garlic, 1 tsp of season all, and 1 tsp of black pepper. place skinless chicken legs in baking dish. Add remaining ingredients and mix in baking dish. Cover and bake for 15 minutes.uncover and continue bake 20 minutes at 375 degree. can serve with pasta and salad.
A good quick recipe that works for me and the fam is mac and cheese box or made from scratch box is always quicker like krafts macncheese, to include their nutrients you could blanche fresh peas or frozen steamed peas for the kids or maybe even fresh diced carrots. Then warm up a couple of slices of garlic breads, either slices of wheat or white bread with a little bit of butter or margerine spread and a dash of garlic and parsley and place in oven for about 10-20 minutes until browned this makes a good quick dinner or lunch even. Then just add a fruit to help keep the balance. ( Sliced apples, banana's or whatever the choice). As well as a good glass of milk for those who can have adult milk, and then water if anything else to drink. Hope this will save you a little time. Have a blessed Day!!
Yes, and I am a very busy Mom with little time left on my hands to spare, so I know what you mean. Recipe listed below:
Cheesy Ranch burger Bake
1lb. of meat/1lb. of shredded cheese/1/2 cup of ranch dressing/1/2 cup of bacon bits/1 egg
combine all ingredients, spray pan with oil, places 6 small tortilla shells on pan, top with mixture, add small amount of shredded cheese, place in oven at 450 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes, fix a tossed salad to go with it, and you have a great tasting and quick dinner the whole family can enjoy!
I also agree with Mitzi check out www.KraftFood.com.
Check kraftfoods.com they have alot, and you can even sigh up for a free cook book about 5 times a years. Its great.
We tried something new the other night and my husband said it was a keeper. I had too much spaghetti sauce leftover, so this is good to use when that happens.
Put leftover spaghetti sauce in a casserole dish. Add chicken breasts... 3 or 4. I cut mine up into large chunks. Cover and bake for an hour at 375. Remove cover, turn chicken and bake uncovered for about ten more minutes. Top with provolone cheese and leave in until melted. Yummy!
jambalaya is the quick easy favorite in our house...
1 can diced tomatoes
1 1/2 c chicken broth
3/4 c rice
2 c cooked diced chicken
1 tsp basil
1/2 tsp garlic
hot sauce if you're up for it
bring tomatoes and broth to a boil, add rice, simmer for 20 minutes. Add cooked chicken. For a more adult meal, sautee green pepper and onion in olive oil then add diced tomatoes and broth, throw in a couple bay leaves. Left overs keep well too so I typically double the recipe and have lunch or another dinner.
chicken pot pie:
boil about 2-3 chicken (i use breasts)
shred it add any seasoning you like (salt, pepper, garlic powder, etc.)
buy the 2 pack pie crust (they're in a box and roll out, by the refrigerated biscuits and cookies)
mix together chicken, 1 can cream of chicken soup, 1 can veg-all)
put top pie crust on and bake 400 about 40-50 min.
really good for whole family. my husband and i add tobasco sauce to ours and usually serve it with applesauce.
I have a few I make often. With 1 i marinate my steaks or porkchops in zesty itialian salad dressing and broil them, they taste great. I also make salmon patties. U can buy a can of salmon and had a 1/2 cup of flour and cornmeal with 1 egg and make them in patties. Martha stewarts websites also always has great recipes.
