check out the tyler place in VT. wwww.tylerplace.com
it's an all inclusive family resort with tons of activities for kids, no TV, etc.
My husband and I are thinking about taking a vacation early next year when our daughter will be 2. Does anyone have suggestions for a destination that would be good for toddlers (there is always Disney, but we might want to do that when she's a little older). We'd need someplace that offers toddler activities and hopefully babysitting so we could at least get a meal or so on our own. Maybe a resort? I'd like to stay in the US to keep the cost down, but I wouldn't rule out the Caribbean. Thanks!

I think "Beaches Resorts" are supposed to be family friendly and provide services like babysitting so you and you husband can get some time alone. I have never used them....good luck!
My parents always took us to Bermuda... short flight from the east coast (we lived in NY...but it is just off the NC coast) and they have lots of inlets and coves where the water is extremely calm and clear. Perfect for toddlers learning to swim!
Dear C.- We took our then 2 year old daughter to Disney and she was good only for a few things. She loved Goofy's house, It's a Small World ride and Cinderella and the Little mermaid. Other than that, she was too young. If you are prepared for a limited trip, fine, and you can go again in a few years and get much more out of it. If you decide to wait, there are many resorts in the Bahamas (Atlantis), in the Dominican Republic (Melia Caribe Tropical) and in Mexico (and other places) where there are fantastic kids clubs. If you have a good travel agent, have them explore this and give you several choices. Make sure you ask for a room in a family complex close to the kids pool and kids club. Best of luck! D.
We took DS to Beaches Boscabel in Jamaica this past summer when he was 18 mo. It was AMAZING and worth every penny! It is toddler heaven there--great toddler water park area, shows and food. Daytime camp is included and $10 hour babysitting fee after hours. I seriously could not recommend it more.
Rather than Disney, plan on Sesame Place in PA at some point - much better for small ones! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sesame_Place
We've been going every summer for 3 years now and it's a great time, with a much shorter commute than Florida. = )
For more of a resort-type place, I've heard wonderful things about Beaches (especially the one in Jamaica, to which you can fly direct from BWI), and of the Disney cruise lines (although my friend's kids were older when they did that).
