My daughter will celebrate her birthday at Build a Bear workshop with few of her best friends. I am wondering should I make them an extra goodie bag to take home ? Considering they will bring home the bear they make, have a cake and some token to play with the bear online later. Also it will be a day after haloween, which I am sure everyone will have plenty of candies at home. What do you think ?
Moms, thanks for your responses. She had a blast with her friends ! They all love the bears (or bunny, or puppy). We finished the celebration with singing happy birthday and blow the candle at the food court. Then had a bear birthday cake with a box of juice. No goodie bags :)
Definitely NO on the goodie bags Mom, the bear and whole (pricey) experience is enough. I think parents today are spoiling children too much and this gives them the sense of entitlement children and young people have today. What happend to the old days of a party at home with friends, family, cake , ice cream and playing??? Hope this helps and have lots of fun.
Skip it. I hate this trend. I'm 42, and when I was a kid, you went to someone's birthday with a present for them and you got cake and icecream and played. I don't know where this thing came from, but I don't like the idea of expecting gifts at someone's party.
You're doing a special treat by doing the Bear thing.
I would forget the goodie bag....unless it would be some cute little accessory for their bear. Are you paying for the bears or are the childrens parents? If YOU are paying for the bears that that is definitely enough...if the parents are paying for the bears then you might get each of them something to go along with the bear at home.
I hated all of the teeny tiny little stuff that came home in the goodie bags from birthday parties...just clutters up the house and gets underfoot!!!

Most goodie bag stuff gets thrown out at our house. It's a waste of money.
I didn't do a goodie bag at my son's bday this year. I had some junk food at the party of course and passed out sheets of Toy Story stickers at the end as the kids were leaving. The kids loved it and lots of people have told me this was their favorite party I have thrown so I guess the goodie bags didn't make a difference to anyone:) I say skip them!

I don't think that you have to offer a goodie bag in this case. The bear and the on-line token that the kids will take home is a fantastic "goodie" in and of itself.

I would say no. OR just get them 1 chocolate bar each in a pretty wrapper. You can even have a special wrapper made saying thanks for coming to your daughters birthday party. But honestly, a build a bear is a good "goodie bag" if you ask me!
I haven't done goodie bags the past couple of years. My daughter has had a pinata and they just take candy from that home. I hate goodie bags. lol, they are full of junk!
Nix the goodie bag. The kids will have a memorable time, and terrific party favors with their take-home bears. How could a bag of trinkets and candy compare?
I definately think the bear is enough. What you could do is take a nice group photo and copy it and send that out in the mail as thank you notes, the kids usually flip over those!

What a cute idea for a birthday party!!!! I think you can skip out on the goodie bags seeing they will have plenty of candy after Halloween and they get to bring the bear home with them. Have Fun!

I would not think that you should send a goodie bag too. If you do, not sure how old the kids are but avoid the candy and maybe put in some lip gloss. But I don't think you need to.
They are already getting a goodies to bring home so I don't think you should make a goody bag.
No! My daughter went to a similar party and was thrilled to come home with the bear. They give out free hair bows in an array of colors -- if you'd like, ask the store to provide a selection for each kid so they can have an accessory. But the bear is plenty!!
I wouldn't since they are taking home the bear and token. That place from what I've heard is not cheap. So I think it's fine to not give out goodie bags.
They will probably be very happy with the bears, and the parents will thank you for not sending home more candy or plastic doo-dads. Have a fun party!
Definitely not! You are giving the kids more than enough :) Personally, I would like to start a campaign to stop goodie bags. My kids have so much little goodie bag stuff- I don't think they will ever need any more in this lifetime. That goes for candy too. I have started to do a craft at bday parties and that's what they take home. Kids need to get out of the mind set that they get a present when they go to someone else's birthday party.
The Bear is PLENTY... NO goodie bag! If you are doing the driving, and depending on how far away you're going, you may want to have some water or juice in the car for the trip home. After the cake and bear-making, you may have some thirsty girls. Have fun!
No goodie bag. You could have your daughter make some simple thank you cards to give to each kid to take home with the bear, etc. Have fun!
If your paying for the bears, then I wouldn't, the bears are usually enough. If the kids are paying for the bears, then maybe a gift card for an accessory (shirt,shoes,hat, ect) would be nice. Just a thought.
