Where can I get this? I looked at WalMart and they don't have it. Does it really work? Is there a specific brand I need to buy?

What can I do next?

B.,
Some HyVee's carry it... I've been finding mine at the Shawnee HyVee near all of the infant vitamins and teething tabs, etc. I have 2 toddler girls and I swear by it... Baby's Bliss makes the one that I use - regular flavor (don't get the apple flavor as there was a recall on it). There is another gripe water sold at Whole Foods, but since I had been using the other one first, my girls didn't take all that well to the switch. Gripe Water is more homeopathic (than teething gel or gas medecine) and its made with ginger and fennel, which have been shown to ease nausea and discomfort due to gas and stomach upset associated with colic, gas, and teething. These are all the symptoms I've really ever needed to treat. Hope this helps,
K.

I bought some at Whole Foods for my baby. He was soooo fussy and very gassy. Gripe water was expensive and I'm not sure it really did anything for him. We also tried bayleaf tea. I found this to work better and be far less expensive. Basically you just steep about 3 bayleaves in a cup of hot water for a little while and it makes a fragrant tea. I kept this in the fridge and would give him an ounce or 2 in a bottle with a drop of Karo syrup (this sweetens it but also helps with digestion) when he started to get fussy. Then I'd pat his back to get the burps out and push his knees on his belly to get the gas out. I can't say it changed him to a happy kid during his 7pm-2am fuss, but it did get the gas out. Good Luck! I know I would have tried anything!

We swore by gripe water with our colicy, gassy little guy!! My doula was the one that told me about gripe water. I know drug stores carry it, but my doula told me to get the "pure" gripe water which is only sold in India stores. She said that other gripe water has added, unecessary ingredients. I know there are a couple India stores off Metcalf, there is one by Babies R Us and there is also one in Olathe. Just check the phone book...that's what I did. The gripe water is between $4-$7 depending on where you get it, but it lasts quite awhile. It is in a glass jar, and if you ask the workers for it, they always seem happy to help! It smells like pickle juice to me and my son loved it. It stopped hiccups immediately, helped with his gas better than the gas drops, and is even supposed to help with teething pain- although my baby really didn't have any problems with teething. I hope this helps!

We tried it with my son when he was a newborn and didn't notice much improvement, the same effect as gas drops. We found it at Walgreens. Good luck!

Baby's Bliss worked MUCH better for us than the Little Tummys brand (which really didn't work at all). The cheapest place we found to get it is drugstore.com, which also offers free shipping w/ $50 orders (we'd order 6-8 bottles at a time we went through so much, and that got us to the free shipping level!). They have gripe water coded as an FSA-eligible item as well, so if you have a flexible spending account for your heathcare expenses (through work benefits), you can use that $$ on it. For our reimbursement company (ADP), they're a pre-qualified partner or whatever, so if we use our FSA debit card, we don't have to mess w/ submitting receipts.

As far as does it really work, we were using it b/c our DD got hiccups EVERY TIME she ate, and she'd suck in so much air when she did that then her belly would hurt her later. The BB gripe water stopped her hiccups *immediately* probably 95% of the time. And, even better - she seemed to really like the taste, so when we put the syringe in her mouth, she'd suck it right on down! :) Luckily she seemed to mostly outgrow the hiccup thing and now at 8 mo. only gets them maybe 1x week.

I've seen it at Walgreen's. I've never used it, but did notice it on their shelves.

This one worked best for my boys- I swore by it for my 1st (of course by my 2nd I realized #1 had reflux and I could have fixed it faster with meds...but that's another story)

I suggest getting it online- the brands I found in the stores weren't the same and the one they used to(maybe still do) carry at Whole foods tastes like black licorice (and what newborn can handle that nasty flavor!ICK- that one came back all over me more than once before I tossed the $10 bottle in the trash!) If I remember this one is more of an apple flavor that the boys didnt mind at all!

Good luck!

Try a drug store like CVS or Walgreens. I know I've seen it at CVS. Babies R Us also has it. I think any brand will work.

I've gotten Gripe Water at India Emporium at Metcalf and 105 and at Olive Cafe at Bannister and James A. Reed. Get the one that comes in a glass bottle that has black and white print on label. It works great.

We tried several brands of gripe water and it did not seem to make much difference. Our daughter ultimately ended up on acid reflux medicine.
