My kids go to Pinnacle Gymnastics in OP, roughly 125th and Antioch. My daughter is 4.5 and has been going since January. She really likes it, it's pretty structured and very "gymnastic-y" but the coaches that she's worked with so far are very good at handling this age group. My son is only 2.5 but starts a class today as well. He's very excited and it's a class designed for his age group so I'm hopeful it will also be a success.

I wasn't sure what to expect either and wasn't even sure what I was looking for. I kinda chuckled at Adansmama's response b/c it could have gone like that for us, but my daughter did love it. The coaches are there to teach skills though and my daughter has learned some good stuff and gotten stronger. They have fun but don't necessarily play games. We don't have any desires to keep her in this for her life or anything, but then again we might, but right now she's having fun so we keep going!

Several, ok 14 years ago, my daughter went to McCrackens in Olathe. I think both of their daughters did gymnastics in college?

I don't know where you are, but after we moved my daughter did private lessons/classes at Eagles just inside of Martin City at about Wornall and 135th.

I know many people go to Diamond, which is very near where we are now.

My daughter has been going to gymnastics at KGDC (Kansas Gym and Cheer) in Olathe for about 6 years. We've absolutely loved it! The facilities are nice, the staff is great, and they have a large selection of classes for both recreational as well as "hard core" gymnastics.

it depends on what you want to spend, what you're looking for her to get out of the class, and how old she is.

when my son was 4 we took him to a gymnastics class through johnson county parks and rec, it was up by shawnee mission medical center, i can't remember the name of the place...anyway, i was looking for just a fun "gymboree" type class, but this was more affordable. he HATED IT. it was in an actual gymnastics gym, and the teenage girls who taught it were gymnasts - NO 'bedside manner' for small sqirmy kids. they were downright rude a couple of times. he barely participated and would spend the entire time clinging to me and whining and fighting me going out on the floor. after 4-5 sessions i gave up. it was obvious that the class was for kids who actually wanted to be IN GYMNASTICS (duh right? but i figured at that young age it would be more about "fun") it was really structured and very "gymnastics" oriented, and that just didn't work for us. that was our experience with gymnastics class. hope yours is better! (we put him in soccer after that and he LOVED IT for what it's worth lol)

We took my oldest to Diamond Gymnastics at 161st and Metcalf. It was awesome and the staff was great!
