I have had my daughter in both the ballet and the gymnastics offered through the Cherokee County Rec Center. Both were great! I think, of the two, I like the ballet better...

Just yesterday I was talking to some friends who encouraged me to check out a ballet program in Towne Lake for little girls. I don't remember the name but it's one where the teacher has costumes for the kids and tells stories and has the kids learn moves based on the story. (Cinderella sweeping for example.)

Still, I'm very happy with the classes the county offers and the prices are great! Go to www.crpa.net and check it out. I bet you find something you like!

My stepson dances with the Company group at Dancentre South...they have a great program. My neighbor's daughter dances with the Company group at Steps...they seem happy with them.

My daughter attended World Of Kids Gymnastics...if just looking for an activity outlet, they have a good program but they don't have a competitive program any longer.

My 5 year old (will be six on Sunday) takes dance at First Baptist Woodstock. We do not belong to the church, but a friend had mentioned them. Their teachers are really great. I ended up going with them after checking on the teachers and comparing prices. I use to teach dance back in the day and was really picky about her classes. They do have a devotion with each class, so that may be a factor depending on beliefs. Most of the schools in Woodstock charge $50 a month plus added expenses for shows and costumes. I am paying $23 a month for tap and ballet and that INCLUDES the costume. Let me know if you are interested and I will get you the info.

The First Baptist Church of Woodstock has a great dance program for kids 3y/o and up. The cost is very low. The classes begin in August and run through May with a recital at the end. Very professionally run. Go to www.fbcw.org and type "dance" in the search box.
